Incorrect use of faux. It wouldn't be a fake points pass, it would be a real one. While i'm at it, steez_ does not have an E on the end. Right, enough English correction. I'm off to do some work before FT posts! love you all (in my special gay way) -

OK, well put EBC - that's something i'll consider. That's why i wrote that i will go and talk to them about when their park and pipe will be in shape - i won't ride their all winter holidays if there are just a few rails and some small lumps of snow. Looks like replacing the broken ipod will be on hold for now anyway $$$! Back to Cassette Tape (anybody remember those?) compilations for the car! Back on topic... It seems to be keeping a bit colder than expected this week - even another dusting last night according to Hakuba NOW! report - good to see. How are the lower ru -

I didn't mean to sound anti-social - Let's go shred (off the radar!) together, and I'm looking forward to riding with various people - i just mean that you have to identify what your goals are and buy the pass that best suits that, rather than listen to people getting excited about where THEY are going to be riding. -

actually there will be quite a few foreign people in 47 this year. There are some people coming from Oz staying for Jan and Feb that are all going to be riding there. I guess Happo will have the least foreign people because of the high price tag (which EBC doesn't even have to pay, so she can be quiet). I don't really care so much where most people will be riding (unless they are people who are into building booters and filming each other, or know what's with up filming freeriding which is way hard and takes self control and sacrifice for the end product on a powder day) - I just wan -

Buying a season pass is mainly for the 2 weeks at christmas and 2 weeks in spring when I will ride more days in one of those holidays than in the weekends between them - and I just can't imagine riding in a resort without some half-decent kickers, or some rails, or a pipe, for all that time - riding powder is fine. I can do it. But time spent hiiting kickers or pipe 20, 30 plus times a day give me the progression I want. That progression is snowboarding for me. Ripping powder is fun but it doesn't make a you good snowboarder all round. The only challenging off piste riding as far as i can -

I know that Happo is higher so this early snow may only be worth skiing there, but it may also NOT be worth 3600 to ski early season patchy stuff, so I'll wait and see. I will probably buy my 47/Goryu season pass this weekend (if i'm paid on Friday) so if it's a bit crappy in Happo and Goryu, i'll chose the latter even if it's worse there, as it won't be costing me anything more. Does that make sense? maybe. If it hasn't melted much and there is decent off piste worth playing on, then i'll buy a Happo pass. -

IF happo is worth going to this weekend, how much will the day passes be now? You said 47 had not much now, but Goryu is open right? -

Oyuki, Yes, I shall indeed be there. Let's sliding. Kuma too. The more the merrier for early season resort bashing and bare patch avoiding. I don't hold out for much in the way of good conditions by next weekend, but I'm keen to get the legs back in training. Going to wax my planks now. Or was it get my planks back in training and wax my legs... -

As this now seems to be the JLPT thread, i'll take a study break from having study breaks (following the cricket online earlier today was good for that too). I'm not too bothered about the result, but i'm starting to enjoy the studying (a bit) which is more important than passing. That's my story and i'm sticking to it. Also, I learnt front boards on a flat bar today (study break no.34: skateboarding in the drizzle) which is clearly much more important. It was proper cold though - thermals under the jeans. oh, and this snow in Hakuba is nice to see. -

Goggles for nighters?
AK 77 replied to ghostofwar's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
As nighters are so popular over hear most ski/snowboard shops will stock clear - lensed goggles, and clear lenses for most big brand goggles. How dark are your orange-tint ones? Yellow (no tint) ones are best in white-outs when it's dumping, and pretty good at night so they might be better than clear if you want to get most use out of them. -

I agree that section didn't fit with the rest of More, and kind of spoiled the whole thing. I was pretty disappointed the first time I watched it, and now just pick chapeters instead of watching the whole theing (the editing / section order sucks this year). Absinthe has the slogan 'full spectrum snowboarding' but I wish they'd stick to what makes their dvds great (the other sections of bc freestyle) and leave Bitner and his wannabe gangsters in the rail/urban specific flicks like the Technine ones mentioned by Kuma. As for why hiphop has a presence in snowboarding... Partly it is that -

er, what's a forum for? sharing information? Just because they are a cluless corporate person seeking a executive-impressing trip doesn't make them less deserving of a helpful answer than someone wanting to know a good cheap place to stay or where to get the best off-piste in January. Both could 'do their own research' or they could ask on a forum that is for people wanting information about snow in Japan.
-
As FT has just done above, while I was typing.
-
I wasn't saying hold her bloody hand and pick which room to stay in, just that her question is pretty clear. I'm not saying we should do the work of a corporate event organiser, or that she shouldn't get a tour operator to organise it anyway (asking for opinions on a forum doesn't quite match up with her budget, it seems), but if i knew which resort was best for an 'executive stay' it only takes a one word answer.
-
ok, the hkgal has said that she doesn't know much about skiing, or Japanese resorts, so doing her own research may not be that helpful if she doesn't know what she is looking at! The situation seems pretty clear: boss wants 'the best' to impress important client on a ski trip to Japan. This means that the boss also is NOT a hardcore skier or he would know what to ask for, and also know that the best hotels and best skiing are not always in the same place. A businessman is not going to be ripping the backcountry, he wants the best hotel facilities and to feel that he is skiing at 'the

What are your colours this year?

Was there acid in the kyushoku? Someone else please tell me it's all gone pink...? Oh, well. I'll take it as a tribute to my socks, although thye are a more of a pale pink. My colours will be (top) and (bottom); white and black; yellow and green.
