  1. Speed study: I came across this interesting post on another board about a speed study that was done a while back. It seems the average speed was about 45 Km and slightly slower for boarders. If your interested you'll find it here: http://www.snowjournal.com/page.php?cid=topic4746
  2. Toque would love to get over there, skiing here is so bad this year (Whistler). I'm working on a project for a cool ski accessory (as you saw), and if all is well I'll be over there next season. Here's hoping! I've heard great things about the hills and everyone seems really into it. Great to see.
  3. In my experience after teaching for 10 years girls generally are more timid and afraid to fall when they are learning. This can slow progress for sure. But you might chaulk the fear up to girls being smarter! But that said any time you generalize your are typically wrong. 4. sic is right. talk about threading the needle on some of those landings. Big balls. Sure guys are dropping bigger air, but that was a way technical course.
  5. Big-Will, Toque is absolutely correct I am checking out the market. But don't worry no hard sell here. Assuming it makes it that far I'll let you know where you can pick it up if anyone is interested. But still some testing to be done. More details on the actual gizmo to come. SubZero you've got the idea. It would tell you your speed once you stopped. Thanks everyone for your input. If all goes well I should be back in a bit letting you know about what I think is one of the coolest new ski accessories to hit the market in years. Cheers.
  6. Fattwins that is crazy fast! Did you ever wipe out? Man that is fast. I like speed but have never been even close to that. What type of skiing/boarding do you do these days?
  7. If there was an inexpensive device that could tell you how fast you skied/boarded, would you snap one up?
