  1. me_jane, those would be mine (sheesh, i'm just a mess ain't i)
  2. by the end of next week i'll know wether 20-30 is possible. current total is 4.
  3. i have some stuff on a blog that i don't use much. i should transfer the ski trip stuff onto the SJ site. March is busier because that's when they open the road that circles the range and you can do the really long BC runs and shuttle it back, there's also the chance the sun might come out.
  4. yeah, i was wondering what the heck that was about too. the only thing close to it was a 15-20 foot drop we had to negotiate while hiking. other than that i'm thinking the steepest was maybe 35 degrees (i'd have to check my map). Quote: Hakkoda range is an awsome spot agreed. part of the gang i was with went back up there same weekend as the SJ party. If i'd had the funds and the time off I def. would've gone again. i had a blast last year.
  5. hah, i've had a busy week and hadn't noticed it was gone yet. i hope i can retrieve it very soon. got the free tickets to use too.
  6. ditto. i'll wear a pink one piece and snowblades before i wear rental boots.
  7. there were two earthquakes in the last couple of hours 4.8 off the coast of Sendai and a 5.8 off the coast of Chiba
  8. no worries, according to stephen, i was mentionned in the original but my part got cut out and is lying in the trashcan of someone's laptop. they pushed the article back two months as well so i'm not sure what happened. i actually agree with a lot of what you guys are saying, those parts feel forced and they don't need to be.
  9. well, it is a travel/adventure magazine, not a ski magazine. i'm pretty sure stephen's original article must have read quite differently. i get the feeling there were quite a few national geographic editorial suggestions.
  10. There's an article in this month's issue about skiing in Hakkoda. You can check it out online here: http://www.nationalgeographic.com/adventure/0602/sports/ski-japan.html or pick up the issue and see if you can find the picture with me in it . my usual BC crew accompanied the author for the first few days.
  11. show us the bombhole!!! that's just double plus insane, so HUGE.
  12. i usually wear mine all the time, but i forgot it on saturday... i was a bit brain dead that morning.
  13. IMO you'd be a useless friend if you didn't. then again, i appreciate it when people tell me my fly's down.
  14. will she hate you more if she moves, quits her job, finds out the hard way and then realizes you could have warned her from the get-go but didn't?
  15. toque, your the first person i've met that likes that movie. i thought it was great. ditto on the sit down advice. last thing you want is surgery and a cast. then you won't even be able to do any cleaning
  16. anything's good for me, i've never been to either either. a little time off the groomers would be nice but i don't care if i hike or not, what i saw from Goryu last week was not encouraging so i'm more than happy to be humble. i would like to dig a pit and practice though (gotta try out my new shovel!).
  17. toque, i know who that is, and i have an autographed picture of her from when i met her in '86. she even let me hold her most prized hardware.
