  1. There doesn't seem to be a minimum age for being in most bars, so if you are really worried you can take him with you and feed him virgin cocktails.

  3. I could if I didn't take many other people but I don't like the idea of sharp edged boards loose in the car next to Mini Me Tarzan in his car seat. The main issue is space though - when I go without MMT I've usually got 5 adults in the car so there isn't really the space to do that then.
  4. If I choose a model with rails they are factory installed so not simple to remove. As far as I can work out I still need to buy a base to attach a box/ski carrier/bike rack or whatever to. It seems that there are two types of bases - one for cars with rails and one for cars without. I guess whatever I choose for the roof will stay on year-round because I live on the fifth floor, there is no elevator and my parking is not that near my house so I'm just going to have to deal with the extra weight and drag. So when I have decided whether to get rails or not, the next question is roof
  5. Thinking of getting a new car. Love the Stagea but RWD just doesn't get me anywhere and the company car isn't always available. Have been considering a Subaru Forester and roof rails are an option on some models. Anyway I can't figure out what the advantages are and can't find anthing online so thought I'd pick the SJ brain bank. Base carriers that fix directly to the car are slightly cheaper than the ones that fix to the roof rails so what are the benefits of getting rails? Cheers.
  6. Have a look at the "kuro neko yamato" website. They have an English page and you can email them directly with questions if you can't find the answers.
  7. Yeah, I read it. It made me feel physically sick.
  8. You shouldn't leave snow types on all year cos they aren't designed for non-snow conditions. They are much more dangerous on wet rainy roads than normal tyres. They are more expensive too so it makes sense to wear out the cheaper ones in summer.
  9. Sky really looked like it was going to snow this morning. No where near cold enough but the season is definitely coming
  10. Hey Emilia, Can't help sorry but changing the title thread to make it more specific (include the ski names) might get you more answers. A lot of people might miss this thread cos there are so many with similar titles.
  11. I read that (original post) too. Something to do with women's hands being more acidic or something wasn't it?
  12. I would rather have smaller portions and a cheaper price. Restaurants in Japan often let you pay a bit extra for a bigger portion of rice or pasta but don't have the opposite.
  13. I get on okay with touchpads, except that you sometimes need two hands for what could be done with one with a regular mouse.
  14. O.T. Mamabear, it's not customary to tip in Japan. I guess you could tip at foreign run places if you really want to, but Japanese might consider it offensive.
  15. Nothing big here. We just did the paperwork and then a party in a bar in Japan. Me Tarzan's friends all chipped in and gave us a day at the photo studio - that was a really nice present.
  16. Haven't added a morning greeting for a while... Morning all, loving the cooler weather. Off for a week hiking in Yakushima tomorrow.
