  1. I noticed in Nagano the stage where the athletes received their medals is now a carkpark, with the stage and 1st/2nd/3rd stands all still there. Really meant to get a photo of that it made me laugh.

Still I'd like to give it a go. Those guys were hooking down those hills Carve boarding is where it's at for me You're right about it being solely downhill, besides sliding and carving the ride is quite restricted in terms of
  3. I can help if you have any questions, I freeborded for three years but haven't ridden for about 18 months now. They're definitely the closest thing to snowboarding, hands down. Although the first few days feel very strange, within a week its literally like snowboarding the streets. I guess the major downside is that you're riding on concrete and catching an edge hurts! I personally enjoyed the rush of bombing down my street at 50kmph being able to slide, spin and carve exactly like a snowboard. Just talking about it makes me want to start again! Also, freebording greatly improves you
  4. Bhutan when I can afford the $200USD a day permits! Burma soon China soon
  5. Wow uncanny similarity here, must have stayed at the same guesthouse! Mine was taken in December, looks so different!

Don Det was also good advice rather than Don Khong, spent NYE there! Managed to get a $220 Jetstar flight to BKK last week so looks like i'll be returning for a cold beer lao
  7. I don't think I could beat walking into Rockbridge to find the bartender on one side, and his mate on the other side with no shirt on wearing a motorbike helmet, both paraleytic. I love the bars they have there and I truly hope they stay the same this year. Tiny bars with a few people, fun rowdy times. Qtips was always 1000 yen entry, screw that! I got the feeling it was the place the western locals went to pick up, and yes, hip-hop!
  8. OT - I have 100 invites (so it says) to gmail so if anybody wants one pm me!
  9. Apparantly he offered his resignation to Bush twice before this? Makes sense, clearly Bush is using him as a scapegoat.
  10. Censorship, banning internet access or e-mail, filtering out non-national or unfiltered websites..... That kind of stuff!
  11. What size board are you looking for? I have size 11 US feet and my boots fit fine on a 162 Custom, any bigger and you'd probably want the Baron.
  12. Nope, but things sure look different with a few meters of snow on them... Don't want to sound like a dream squasher, but if you're thinking about opening a bar you should really check the place out first, there are only a few small bars around there for a reason.
  13. hahaha, wow in that context what i said before sounds terrible! luckily i don't eat crabs myself!
  14. You can get crabs in Niseko, dad ate a hairy crab the size of a dinner plate back in the 03/04 season so there is bound to be more now. What a strange thread btw, alcohol tollerance to crabs.
  15. haha great! 'they look like condoms' thanks ebc!
  16. If you wait for Vista then it will come bundled with the notebook. I wouldn't wait any longer though for better tech like blue ray or you'll never get a notebook (unless blue ray emerges when Vista does)! I've been shopping round and researching for 6 months and found I always kept holding back for the new technologies, never works, especially with laptops. Single core, dual core, next quad core. Wait for Vista then settle on what's best then!
  17. Check the ski.com.au forums, there are several large threads on Furano which are bound to have the answers.
  18. Touring Laos and Cambodia, gonna be a very different New Years I think.
  19. Does this mean I can use my AUD everywhere else in Japan? What about Hakooba?
  20. Seriously, don't rent boots in Hakuba! My girlfriend did for 10 days and it ended up costing as much as buying a good pair back home, she also had problems with every single pair in her size (8) cause of their poor quality. We really regretted not buying her a pair beforehand!
  21. There's one in my pool now, how do i get rid of it?
