  1. I think that with all the new condos, apartments etc. theres more accomodation than there used to be and its cacthing up with demand - slowly... if you are looking to do it cheaper, stick with the local companies. They don't charge you for the cost of foreign staff, advertising etc. I booked through Experience Niseko. They only deal with local Japanese places. Got an awesome package on lift passes and accom. When I made my booking bout 2 weeks ago, I could choose from 3 different lodges, and varuous types of rooms within each - so my verdict... still plenty of accom if you know where to lo
  2. pretty much if there are not runs on the map, then its out of bounds... ski patrol are getting stricter about it these days, too many punters on the hill thinking they own the place yet have no idea about the avalanche danger in certain areas - which is why its out of bounds...
  3. I brought 2 boards in two bags filled withg gear + a pretty big suitcase and flew over with JAL, initially they said I had to pay a **** load of money to bring it over, but if you insist long enough, they get over it they finally let you thru withouth payment, although this did take me past the second final boarding call..
  4. Hey, I spent last winter at Niseko and experienced the best boarding in my life.. so good that all I can think about now, especially in this 35 degree heat is getting back there for this coming winter. I really need to work there, and can speak conversational Japanese and was wondering if anyone had any ideas/suggesstions about the bet way to go to hook up a job at the snow fields. Niseko or somewhere close would be ideal, but I am not too fussed as long as I get a good balance of boarding in every week.
  5. Just wondering if anyone knows how much the `passport` for all three Niseko resorts is and if it is better getting it or just doing a single resort p/day?
  6. Heya - Another one of the superior sexes here (joke - chill boys) female boarder from Australia, about to experience my first taste of Japan boarding in December, Nisekko... anyone been there b4? thank * the snow has finally started to fall!!
  7. Hoping that someone can offer some advice - I am new to Japan and planning a snowboarding trip for when some friends come out in Dec. At the moment I hear the season is not looking good - is this a normal start? We are only able to go from Dec 24 - Jan 1. The price of our package also costs 73 000 which I have been told is quite expensive. Not sure what do do at this stage, cancel, stick with it, change resorts? We are heading to Nisekko as I heard has the best powder in Japan?
