Well I hope you are happy with the questions that you have asked. The responses look pretty good But as you and SM mentioned. It is an expensive change. I dropped $1200 cdn on my new rig. I'm super stoked by it though. Can't wait to get some bigger boards under the bindings next season. I'm thinking a 90-95mm waiste at 180 should be a great backcountry ride especially for the snow I'm skiing which is not often very deep.

Dude its a DIN 10 binding. Of course it can ski a face at 80km/h. The trick is staying attached to your feet when you catch an edge and yard sale all over the place.

Not the biglines like in Hakuba but so far my best skiing of the season on Saturday. A nice face starting at about 40 degrees with wind packed powder most of the way down. Mountains as far as the eye can see in every direction up here. No towns larger than a few hundred for hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of km all around.

They are not for people like you that mainly ski sidecountry/slackcountry and have 2000 metre lines within a lazy 1 hour skin. Although there is a DIN 12 Dynafit coming out next season. And at 500 grams that is 1/4 the weight of Fritschi and Naxo for the same quality. It also gets you closer to the ski and as well has a better stride. But they are for people like me that don't ride lifts and want to get to the top of the mountain/run without lifting cement blocks on each step. If you find youself wanting to ski biglines in areas like Kamikochi and the Tateyama then the Dynafit is for you.

Any more news on this? Its great they finally got rid of the operation. All the trips I did up there I was always super annoyed with the noise not to mention the gorbies making there way into the "backcountry". The only thing worse is the brap brap brap a sled makes.

You have to ski the banana couloir on Hakuba Yari. Screw the main couloir. You've already skied it.

After 5 years of fairly intense use I've retired my 30 litre Marmot Eiger and bought an Arcteryx Khamski from MEC. The Eiger was getting thread bare and I could see through the fabric in the bottom. That bag went a lot of places in the mountains with me though. For a 30 litre bag I sometimes stuffed it enough to get out for 3 days. Link to MEC I'm happy with the Khamski so far. At 40 litres its big enough for a days load of gear plus some extras which I need up north. And my first shovel/probe pocket which is great for storing wet skins and of course shovels.

I bought a bunch of new dvds this fall Linescore - Pretty cool except it was filmed during last seasons American crap season so the skiing isn't as sick as it could be. But pretty cool. Lost and Found - Sick TGR vid as usual Yearbook - Pretty good dvd from MSP. Couple years old though. The Hit List - Good dvd from MSP from 2 seasons ago I think. Same year as Tangerine Dream which is a sick dvd.

Oh man This week has been a total right-off due to Christmas. Easy for me in the planning but annoying because the students just don't care. Most of them haven't bothered coming in so my grade 11/12 classes have only 2 students at most. Why bother teaching with so few. Today we have guitar hero going off the projector and a wii off another TV. 10 students in the entire 8-12 part of the school

Screw you FT Damn you are scoring big so far this season! You deserve it buddy I'm off south tomorrow afternoon. 8-10 hours to Smithers and then a plane the rest of the way south to Vancouver. I'll get my only resort days of the season on this little trip. A couple days in Smithers and as well Manning Park. Where is this at? Looks like from the Gondola at Tsugaike

Any other pictures Dizzy? That is loads more snow that I have seen since figuring out this whole Tateyama place a few years ago. Even with the "interesting" experience that you had, any bluebird fall day in Tateyama is something worthwhile. I never experienced it that is for sure. Was always whiteout for me. Cool you got out for some turns. Any day in the backcountry is loads better than a day spent riding the lifts. -17 pfft -30 this morning on my bike into work
