  1. Defrag? the defrag tool that comes standard with windows is rubbish, don't waste your time, if you are genuinely interesting in defragging and maintaining an optimum HDD then get a decent defrag tool made by someone else. IMO the best tool out there is "Diskeeper" Though if you are the type think IE is good browser then please ignore this advice and keep using the Microsoft standard one.
  2. To convert to pdf I use Primo pdf - free and works perfectly. http://www.primopdf.com/

We did one shark feed dive at a spot called "predators playground" where they used a pulley system to a set bouy with meat tied to skewers for the sharks to eat and we the divers sat/kneeled together on the bottom 20m away, the water was only 9m deep so we had a l

  6. Hamilton/McLaren got screwed by Bernie and the Stewards. The Ferrari bias is so plainly obvious its not funny. Niki lauda is one legend calling a spade a spade The Austrian legend said that Hamilton's penalty made him start to believe suggestions that the authorities favoured Ferrari. "In the past, there have always been rumours and stories - and I've always been completely against them because they've never been proven - that Ferrari, because of its past and history, was always against McLaren with the stewards and the FIA, who if there was a decision, were in favour of Ferra

Perhaps I was a little strong on his background, if he had been a regular scruffy public school kid I would have done the same, but this little chap had something about him. 8. I know slackers in who the late 80's and early 90's sent joke faxes: faxes with amusing jokes, drawings, poems etc. One collected them all in a ring binder. The internet killed that pastime.
  9. Today I was at the train station at about 3:30 pm. There was a young school boy there (about 7) in his school uniform, a posh well to do private school. Anyway this kid bought some candy from the platform kiosk and opened it. The cardboard box came off and he nonchalantly dropped it on the ground, then the foil wrapper came off and he too flicked that on the ground, all without hesitation. Then began walking away while eating his candy. I was watching intently quite amazed at the utter selfishness of his actions and total disregard of disposing of the litter, and as he began to walk away I s
  10. How is this, after moaning earlier in this thread that costco didn't stock the basic model of Braun refills anymore, I went to Costco yesterday and voila' there were bulk packs of the basic refills! Murphys law in action there! You know JA, generations got by without computers, the internet, DVD's, fat powder skis etc etc etc, that doesn't mean I have to listen to an AM transistor radio, use telegrams and ride skinny little old school skis, does it?. Mate either you are either taking the piss, or you are stubbornly clinging to one of the weakest arguments ever. I want to think it's
  11. Right on CB, you preaching ot converted with me! I had one of the old school basic Braun/Oral B jobs for about 3-4 years - until Costco stop selling the bulk refills packs of the basic heads ( they only stock the fancy newer heads now - bastards) The basic heads are bloody expensive in a supermarket/drugstore here. I used it until the battery wouldn't hold a charge anymore. Then the good wife found a 2 for 1 deal one a Sonic toothbrush. Not a name brand one, so it was much cheaper, its called a "sonic beauty". I always thought the braun oscillating one was great, but the sonic
  12. Fukuda, Abe - two lightweights in a row. Is there anyone ready to step up? apart from one of the Yasukuni visiting rightwing nuts? Bring back Koizumi!
  13. In the prez 'card race', to counter any race card McCain, has pulled an equally big gender card. Cunning plan by McCain. I was watching the Daily show the other day and it was hilarious the montage of "serious" reporters they assembled speaking of one card or another: the race card, the change card, the populous card, the fear card, the Europe card, the patriotism card, the woman as victim card, the gender card, the class card and the Maliki card. Lots of cards. How about the who give a *&^% card? Plenty of people playing that themselves. I believe CreekBoy back in the US of A has

  15. Perhaps I was too harsh with nazi, dick is a better word: How dare they be such dicks about people viewing the Olympics in the first place. The Olympics are generally available on free to air TV all over the world and streamed on the net in certain countries with many clips available for free viewing on the host broadcasters website. Some countries had 100's of hours of broadcasts. BUT each country has to exclusively broadcast and allow access only to users within that country with blackouts on the internet and radio. For example TVNZ in NZ had a decent website with a huge select

  17. My Olympic highlight was the super heavyweight weightlifter Matthias Steiner of Germany, on his last lift, whacked a massive 10kg extra on the bar ( he was pretty much at his max on his previous lift) and the last lift was a herculean effort, not too far off the world record and he nailed it and the gold medal and promptly "lost it" in euphoric, hysterical jubilation/crying - his wife had died the previous year and he had moved to Germany from Austria after a fallout with the Austria Weightlifting Assoc. He had just passed the residency requirements to lift for Germany. He had had a tough few
  18. have you actually had a fiddle with one? they are not as bad as you make them out. You wrote it off before it even came out. I spent 30mins playing with one at Yodobashi Electrical shop yesterday I was impressed. The maps/GPS feature is awesome. It's quick and uses Google maps with the same satellite/map/hybrid feature that the full internet Google maps has - its superior to the GPS/yahoo maps feature of docomo by far. The youtube feature is sweet - more useful for entertainment than a one-seg TV function given the puerile rubbish on TV here - I would only ever use a TV feature to wa
  19. that's a bad photo, she has got a fairly tight body for a 50 year old woman. A-Rod wanted to go there (or went) and he could have had the choice of nearly any bird in the world to cheat on his wife with. So she must still have 'it'

  21. Why does it matter do you say? well it matters because there are rules which everyone has to follow and China it seems 'cheated', in their dogged pursuit of medals. They have already shown what lengths they will go to in these olympics to create the best image and to win at all costs, from the lip sync fiasco, CGI fireworks, biased shooting judges and now underage gymnasts - nicely covered up too. Whether it be age limits in Gymnasts (to protect young gymnast from being exploited for their superior flexibility at the detriment to their growth) or bans on doping or whatever, everyone has
  22. Japan beat USA in the Softball! that is big and unexpected, well done the Japan girls. AND, the US women dropped their baton too!
  23. 4 channels are showing the olympic stuff - two were showing the same womans football game, one showing the softball and the other volleyball replays, meanwhile the mens 800m semi's, the womans 200m final, the triple jump final - zip, nadda and now the channel that has the athletics as advertised in the tv listings who were showing the football before are now showing repeats of Fukuhara playing ping pong...arhh! Yesterday two channels were showing the softball game simultaneously, one the mens baseball and the other ping pong replays! here we go, finally they have gone to the athletic
