  1. My exboyfriend living in Kamakura used that way very often. There are ski slopes called Misaka ski resort between Tomei Gotenba and Chuo Misaka. We used to go there for night skiing after work and get back home by midnight.
  2. My friend called me very late last night, he was on the chair lift in Chile. I'm so jealous...
  3. I'm trying to find a pub I can watch tour de france this year. Last year I went to Hub in Roppongi, but there is no information this year...
  4. Arica, my friend is there and I enjoy watching the live webcast every night. It's very interesting for me to see coastal landscape, waves and locals there.
  5. Sunrise, you told me about this art course several years ago. One month in France sounds really nice. I'll travel alone and visit my friends in Bern and Milan, maybe Lichtenstein. Angers... a little bit too far I wish I had three month holiday in Europe!
  6. Jane, I'll leave here on the 19th and back on the 30th of July. fjef, will you go sailing this summer?
  7. Sunrise, which part in France are you staying? I'm planning to visit my friends in Bern and Milan end of July.
  8. Treks or Cannondales are very cool. Mine is Felt F60, Carbon folk + Shimano ULTEGRA.
  9. Beer on the beach!! I'm going to Europe end of July...
  10. This is the link for ferry company. http://www.tokaikisen.co.jp/ Here is an old topic about Oshima. http://www.snowjapanforums.com/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/180550/page/0/fpart/1 I have been to Oshima about 5times by ferry and sailing boat. I had cycling weekend in Izu last weekend and realized cycling around Oshima was much easier and nicer than Izu. If you are going to Oshima and Niijima, You should get on board ship with your bike and surfboard.
  11. Here are some pics of north part of Okinawa. I visit Sesoko island every year. It's business trip and don't have free time but I'm pretty happy to work there, very beautiful beach, undeveloped nature and friendly local people. Sesoko Beach Sesoko Island Nakijin Gusuku
  12. Kyoto station → VS Tokyo station → I like Tokyo station much better, this red brick structure has a history like temples in Kyoto. I read Dogs and Deamons and met Alex Kerr in Tokyo few years ago. I thought it was a good book but can't remember what he said in his book. That means it wasn't so impressive to me. ger, I hear good reputation about David Suzuki but never read his books. His speech here is pretty impressive and I'd love to read his books. 13. Great TR, quattro! He is so cute and cool. There is a touring route between Kiroro and Kokusai?
  14. "Milton Naschimento" He is coming to Tokyo end of April @bluenote Tokyo.
  15. You get "pineapple express" there, too? That's not only in Seattle? What is pineapple express?? I need a research. Hi Ewok!
  16. Quote: Originally posted by ger: Seattle's cool. Lot's of good brewery pubs too... good coffee shops are more common than good bakeries (Slow).... as far as I've seen. Thanks for the report, ger. Good brewery sounds nice. It's not easy to find good bread in the US compared to Canada... Wholefoods market is the place to go for the good bread in the US, I know this at least. 66, - getting pummeled with "Pineapple Expresses"? What is it? That sounds cute.
  17. Suica-Pasmo is good I think. I have been waiting for this for years, no need to carry two or three cards for public transport, that's good.
  18. Sorry, my season was over... hope to get there with you guys and try BC skiing next winter. Have fun and please take some pics to share your fun time with us. I'm very happy about SJ Kagura community.

  21. I went to see this (Three guys having fun to make their own skis, trying them at Mammoth mountain.) a few years ago and I thought it was pretty funny and heartwarming. I couldn't go but these enthusiastic skiers, who are artists and teacher had workshop at the gallery in Ginza as well. Happy trail /Yutaka Sone, Damon McCarthy, Eric Allaway
  22. I trust doctors sometimes. They did great job when my dad had a brain surgery in Tokyo and my nephew's eye surgery in Stanford. They are healthy and have happy life now.
  23. It's nice to hear you guys had a great weekend. No pictures of March powder???
