This is my hometown Yokosuka, very wet snow and still snowing heavily. I should go back to Tokyo soon after lunch.

thinking of buying snowshoes. Are there any recommendation?

5 so far... 3days in Hakuba, 2days tree skiing in NozawaOnsen. I was reading avalanche book on my bed in the hospital last week and now I really want to try bc skiing. I don't care how many days in the resort but I want to challenge bc skiing at least one time this season!

I was in Sapporo last weekend but no snow in the city yet...!! I had my ski boots with me expecting some skiing there but not motivated to go. (I know I was lazy... ) So, now is the Sapporo getting more whity?

Just came back from Avalanche night. It was very interesting to learn about avalanche and also very scary, they showed us really harsh reality... I think Chiba beaches are really cool, I grew up in Shonan area and love beautiful sunset beaches around there but when it comes to waves, Chiba is great place to go. totally different atmosphere, more countryside, more beautiful waves, more real surfers there.

I think I need new boots this winter, my boots are almost 7years old now... I was researching and am interested in GARMONT XENA, which has two sets of soles ski mountaineering soles and ISO Alpine soles. anyone here using Garmont boots? Are they good?
