Hopefully Hotaka Bokujo on Sun...if it rains in Tokyo tomorrow(had another ball game scheduled on Sun). I really want to check out their Snowstyle park and Sun is their last day in operation. -

But not all of the lifts are open at that time, right? -
Spring season goals
Will Lee replied to Fattwins's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
1) Get back into jumping and catching some air in the park(and not worry about reaggrevating my right knee)...check. 2) Get that nosepress down on the box...half check. 3) BS Indy 180...work in progress. -

Hey guys, try www.staadventure.com. I`ve just ordered a brochure from them. Cheers -
Wanna start some s**t in my town? Better bring your katana then we could rip through Kabukicho together!

Naw, Ocean. I was only pulling your leg! But if they asked me to do it I`d give it a go. BTW, doesn`t the bloke look a lot like William Defoe?

Pretty sure my buddies and I will head up to Niigata next Sun(not this coming Sun). If you`re seriously interested Koyuki drop me a private mail and maybe we can work something out. -
It is warm isn't it?

"It`s getting hot in here...I wanna take off all my clothes!" C`mon, y`all know the lyrics! But seriously I have to admit having a bit of sadness seeing all them cherry blossoms. Til there`s no more, I say! -
Ride alone?
Will Lee replied to IceEiji's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
It`s been about half and half this season. Weekdays I usually ride alone, on weekends it`s almost always with my other boarding bastards. I totally agree with that thing about being able to meditate and "express" yourself when riding alone. But I also appreciate a good fun day with my buddies and the sense of comradary(spl?)that comes with it. That`s why I`m glad I`ve been able to do both. -
Cheers, mate...but after you. What`s next? Digesting your own poo?

And no, that devilish smile wasn`t an invitation for some manage-a-trois action. I only do one-on-one private lessons...she`s all mine baby!

Weekends from now on busy?

Yeah, pretty much. Just try to avoid them popular ones. -
Snow all year in Japan
Will Lee replied to cal's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
I`ve been told Gassan up in Akita Pref can stretch your season well into July. But I`ve also been told there are only a couple of lifts and a lot of hiking... -

Now you`ve got me interested...about how much are these plates gonna cost me(all-around ones)? -
Went to Urabandai Nekoma in Fukushima yesterday. I guess it wasn`t all that bad considering the time of the season(I went to Kitashinshu Kijimadaira at the same time last year and it was pretty pathetic). The slopes below were quite icy and they still had some wettish pow up on top. It was rather foggy up there too with occasional gusty wind. Icy snow kept falling for the most part of the day. Unfortunately their No.1 Lift(which leads to the highest point)was not in operation so I hit the park early. I was extremely surprised at how the park at Nekoma had transformed itself from the last

I`m not going anywhere this weekend...got my first baseball game of the season tomorrow thus my original plan was scratched. I seriously pray my right knee and left shoulder are up to it. Was gonna head up to Okutadami Maruyama with my buddies. Oh well, at least I got to go to Urabandai Nekoma yesterday. -

Did you hear about the employee at Yanaba who supposedly shot at some visitors in the park with his BB gun earlier this season? That`s some crazy s**t! -
Your most impressive trick
Will Lee replied to tiron's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Wow, I am indeed impressed. Just checked out the link...didn`t know Hotaka Bokujo has transformed itself into a freestyle wonderland! When I was there right after New Year there were only 2 small kickers, a reg sized box and one long one, that`s all(no halfpipe yet(. Maybe I should head out over that way again next month. It doesn`t look like Kanto will get anymore dumps. Going to Urabandai Nekoma tonight...I hope their newly redesigned board park will be open this time. -
Early morning opening

Going to a place that starts before the sun comes up is a good idea if you want to head home before the roads start getting crowded(and not be so tired the next day). Okutone Minakami in Gunma starts at 5am but their snow is usually not very impressive. -

Where did this feat take place? Off that big kicker at Nozawa Onsen? -
Busy over 3-day weekend?
Will Lee replied to Ocean11's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Ahh...how cute! And H11`s got real bindings on too. My friend`s kids(skiing)don`t particularly care for turning either. Ocean you were right about "sugar on concrete." 185cm of powder snow my ass! Everything turned to crap by 11am at Echo Valley yesterday. The only thing left to do was to hit the park(very surprisingly decent), banged up right knee and all.
