  1. Nozawa is near that place - just across the river, probably a 10-15 minute ride I would think. It is nowhere near as big as Nozawa but ok for a day I'm sure. Sure the snow will be good now as well with the dumpings we have been having. Tell us how it was if you go!
  2. You should be ok, I presume you don't have snow tires at all? They are great if you are living in the snowy regions.
  3. Anyone seen or used one of these things? I'm interested to know of any first hand reports Here's the blurb: An industry first, the new Silva Ski Speedometer is the only product available to measure ground speed and distance for snow sport enthusiasts! Its multi-purpose radar sensor is accurate for cross country and downhill skiing. Versatile receiver design can be worn as a wrist watch, on a carabiner, or on a lanyard for maximum flexibility of use. Speed Distance Heart rate (with P/N 2831010) Wireless coded RF transmission between sensor and receiver (watch) 3 speed m
  4. You'll have to tell us when it's on tv!
  5. That is great. I really hope he enjoys it - take him to the right place!
  6. Definitely. Can you imagine the uproar if that happened? Perhaps they could have speed radars & cameras. To a certain extent resorts are covered for accidents that happen on their slopes. Accidents that happen out of bounds in areas that the resort tell their customers not to go are a different matter altogether though and cause endless problems.
  7. I'd be interested to know how you would propose that patrol 'police' (for want of a better word) the slopes for dangerous skiers.
  8. I will be there soon, well as soon as a decent dump arrives. It's good to hear the stories though.
  9. I really like the colors used on this page http://www.city.matsuyama.ehime.jp/sakakumo/siminjuku2/index.html Looks great. Bet you can't wait.
  10. I think Kandatsu is really much better than Gala on the whole, decent place.
  11. It sure does get real windy up there, hey. Tashiro gets some of the worst of that. Avoiding it on windy days is a good idea.
  12. No wonder they use that pic every year for the poster, it is awesome.
  13. On the subject of batteries... the battery on my dell notebook is no almost completely dead. Use the computer for more than 10 minutes without mains and it comes up with the low battery warning, then soon after shuts off. Bad show. It's not that old either.
  14. Quote: my office refuses to put the heating on until the 1st of December The old switching the heater/aircon on fixed day. Where I used to work they had that. Absolutely no flexibility allowed. Even turning it off to save if the weather was was cooler/warmer than expected and wasn't needed. Crazy.
  15. So... 'teaching' then, nihongo-muzukashii-desune?
  16. I agree with Potato-san. Do what you can to not be in Tokyo before proceeding. I know you emphasised HAVE to, but...
  17. JK's main problem apart from being flat is the lifts - many of which are just sooo slow. I see Tomamu in there are well. Many people here been there?
