  1. Have we had this discussion before? I just like to poke fun at Flow because I think it is gimmicky. I am not saying they aren't good bindings. Yes Deebee you were able to slip your foot in a clip down exactly like you are supposed to. That is the entire benefit of Flow. The question is was it as good of a ride as if you had stopped and strapped in regular bindings. ANYWAY...enough of this
  2. So what did the season's pass cost you Barok? The price on the 47 page on sj.com is blank. a Day pass costs 4500Y. Is it possible to buy a weekday pass for a discount?
  3. I agree it is weird Oakley doesn't build a clip into their gogs. Like it is such a major or expensive addition. I love my Oakleys. I don't think it is that no one else makes great goggles so much as Oakley only makes the highest quality goggles - they don't also make the cheap ones. Know what I mean?
  4. I am good with all this. Seems a good time to let it rest. Man I really need to see some snow.
  5. Whats goin on at the top of this thread deebee? You all right there bud? As for 2nd topic. - Oakley - only make great googles.
  6. Yeah that is exactly what that is. You pull up a little lever and spin it around. Another one of the stupid innovations in snowboard bindings that was created in the mid 90s when it was just too hard to live with traditional bindings. How about Baseless bindings for "feeling the rail through the board" -- yeah right. Bindings that came all the way off the board with a twist of the leg so that you could quickly detach and take a stroll...unless of course you wrecked hard and broke your leg. A plastic piece that your straps clip into and then clips into your bindings, reducing the a
  7. I agree Deebs, I haven't been to any of the resorts but 47 definitely stands out as one of the first I should visit. Sounds like they are committed to the hardcore rider...at least more than some. I really don't think the seasons pass buyer is plays that much of a role in the profit scheme f the resorts. I think it is something they know they have to offer, but wouldn't if the could get away with it. Whats a pass cost at 47 vs a day ticket? You only have to go like 4 or 5 times to pay for it right? It does reward loyalty in such a competetive marketplace, though.
  8. Higuma - With all due respect I have to say I think your 9:30AM post is out of line. This poor kid may be a little misguided but you are being unnecessarily harsh on him and indirectly on forum members that share his beliefs. I think any human is entitled to his opinion without that level of condemnation. I have a lot of respect for people that are working to make the earth a better place whether or not it is a cause I am in complete agreement. The person is acting. As for the WTO "RIOTS" as you so politically correctly put it (BTW were you there on the streets to make that claim
  9. Isn't it incredibly expensive to get a license in Japan?
  10. a mate is someone you mate with i.e. have sex
  11. I try to wax every 2-3 days I ride...sometimes more like 4-5 though. Just started this last year and I can notice a difference.
  12. I don't really care either way but it never really bothered me because they are just a quick sounding board for the newest forum members to say "Hi I am , I ride on , and I live in ." Kinda a nice intro to posting for the newbs. No one ever posts more than once.
  13. Maybe this is part of the reason some resorts were so reluctant to open early. Too much hassle to have to close when the rain is too heavy. They have to pay the workers that aren't working on these days, who wouldn't have started had they not opened. Mid November riding is pretty sketchy
  14. It is w-a-y fun but incredibly frustrating at times. Around here it is 6 riders at a time going down a windy course usually packed with bumps, table tops, and banked turns. You can be the best rider in the race but if someone grabs you or goes down in front of you it is over quick. I'd love to run som BoarderX in Japan. BTW Boarder-X stands for Boarder-Cross
  15. Definitely not "mate." That has a whole different meaning here. attach any of the following to "Whassup ..." and it's all good. Guys ===== dude bro bra brutha bud man mang homey homes Girls ====== sis girl
  16. I learned by just pointing my board down the hill and falling down a lot, getting up and going again. No lessons.
  17. Here's an easy way to tell. Do they speak Japanese? Anyay, it doesn't really matter,
  18. Hey Deebee, you think maybe your closeness to this issue may make you a little less objective?
