  1. I went to habaku47(sp) where it was snowing lightly all weekend. Pretty much soft groomers with knee plus in the seldom ridin trees, from what I could see (due to a low celing) this place has a great potential for inbound terrain. The only thing holding most who want to ride it back, was probably the warnings on the gondala (E&J or mabey it was just E) and the cameras on the lift poles facing the trees... Other than crap rental equipment it was a great weekend.

  2. Most super pipes are 17'-18' with some of the new prototype dragons(there is another name) now doing 20'-22' walls, but these have only been tested at a few select resorts.... I would agree that super pipes have alot more tranny for "begginer" pipe riders but I don't think they should be there (makes for a very dangerous situation) until they get a good grasp on the ways of the normal pipe....

Been in J-land for 2 months and still the only riding I've done is mexican snowboarding (standing on a sled) at the local dry hill in the public.. mad.gif

  3. Deebee, manipulating you back foot like that would only cause you problems when incountering other riding (weight distrabution)situations. There is however cants on the market which elevate at a selectable angle either foot and are mainly reserved for plate setups where the boot binding combo is to stiff to allow leg flex and knee movement. Just keep practicing exspecialy in the morning on the courtery (sp) when can look back and analize your line.....and in no time you'll be carving like a euro... If you want any info on cants feel free to email me.

  4. I just had the pleasure of riding the seasons first man made base... The 200+m of snow included multiple whale backs as well as a 20' mailboax and picnic table... Once the weather warmed a local celeb fest ensuied with kids breaking them selves jibbing for the cameras....good old nor-cal. I dont know why I'm writting this, but its probably the fact that come next thursday I will be in the urban jungle of tokyo for at least a month before I can ride... Anyways it was FUN!

  5. Deebee,

I dont quiet know what you mean by easy surf.... You have everything from eady beginer waves to 90foot monsters (malibu to mavricks)... Cali has some of the best surf and mnts on the planet...and I'm open too discussion on this one.... you could in southern cali (the most croweded surf and mnts) surf in the morning and snowboard by the afternoon, about a two hour drive. I don't know what type of surfer & snowboarder/skier you are but the mnts of southern cali are mainly for parks and pipe(some of the best) due to the lack of naturaul snow... However the waters warmer and thus the waves are more crowded. In northern cali you have MUCH better mnts offering everything you could want to play with but the water is COLD and a little further away,(about three hours)....this doesnt mean that the surf isnt worth it. Anyway there alot closer than France..but france cold be alot of fun...Hope this helps some....if you have anymore questions let me know.

  6. The unfortinate thing about wrist guards is that they transfer the energy that might have spraind/broken your writst up to (for most unless your a heart surgen)a more important joint, the shoulder. On my yearly visite to the hospital I get a chance to talk to the docks who deal with more ski/snowbaord injurys than any other hospital in the states and their finding at an alarming rate that most people wearing wrist guards are developing sholder problems where as the wrist would have taken most of the injury...I guess it's a trade off but haven broken my wrist multiple times and having friends with limited arm movement from shoulder trama, I would much rather have my original injurys....I know this may seem far fetched but it does make sence having previously worn wrist gaurds...open for discussion... Say is there any market for an english speaking snowboard consultant in Japan?
