I have seen the "doing a Spurs" mentioned on a few sites as well.
Seems like the phrase has taken hold!

The Accused
Quite old now, but still quite unsettling.
-
Keeper change thing. Very clever on so many levels.
Didn't know much about this kantoku, but I'd rather he not be on the way to United!
-
I want us to get past this Suzarez episode as quickly as possible and move on.

I think people who were 100% into their job with it totally consuming their life find it more difficult to adjust. (Tubby, be careful there!)
The key is to have something you that you love doing and do lots of it, and keep active. Sounds like a mad/good "problem" to have.
My parents too are both still active, even if less mobile than they used to be.
Money aside, the idea of working hard until I'm 70 65 60 is......... less than appealing!

Punishment for the kids of something, is all I can think of!

I don't think you can ignore the cash in football because there is next to no chance that a Nottingham Forest, Ipswich, Aston Villa, Norwich (third when Fergie first won the Prem, with Villa second) will compete for the title any more. If you arrange the Premiership teams using their wage bill, you get very high correlation with the final table. The biggest exceptions are at the bottom where you can have a relatively big spender like QPR still eff up.
ManYoo were supposed to get Herrera for Moyes last summer, so it feels a bit weird them getting the same player now. It sounds like Moyes also did a lot of groundwork for a Shaw deal.
Oh yeah I totally understand the money thing... just saying that me personally, I try to ignore it.
As with many things in life, if you pay more money you generally expect to get better things. Ne.

Friend just sent this on
An England fan had his ear bitten off in a vicious attack by another supporter after the national side's World Cup loss to Uruguay. The victim, believed to be England fan Robert Farquharson, was left with blood pouring down his neck after having half of his left ear lobe ripped off by a racist thug in the Arena Corinthians stadium in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The savage attack happened a week before Uruguay and Liverpool striker Luis Suarez was banned from the competition for biting an Italian player - but details of the attack have only just emerged.
It's contageous!
-
Yes I think they did. And their fans are pretty vocal and kibishii by all accounts. He wouldn't be chickening out taking a simple option by going there.
Anyway, they say they would prefer a German manager and he approached them!
-
Good question that, I was wondering too.
-
I haven't been watching all the games, but how have Brazil been? Don't seem to have come up with particularly exciting results and reports...
-
Losing balance. Yes, I can see that.
-
Why?
The dude bit him. It may not have been deep but it's a very clear crime. From what I saw, which was not all of it I admit, looks like he could easily have made more of it.

Mad cash according to the "newspapers", but still if it's over 10 years and he's a top signing...
Rio was a record signing wasn't he, United got their worth out of him.
I try to ignore all the cash stuff now. What do we know. Apart from the fact that most of it is bullshit, and agreements are complex and not just a cash payout, I'm just interested in the footie.
-
I think Liverpool might just have had enough.
And if he's out of 1/4 of the season.... get massive chunks of dough and spend on someone else.
A risk but, he's a risk.
If he just wasn't so bloody good.

I thought that was like a bikini-clad model. Though I may be wrong. Topless?
She doesn't look like she would be somehow, seems more classy than that from what I have seen.
I just hate the thinking this bloke and his bretheren has though. It's infuriating.

The La's album is always a good listen
-
Madness.
Back to the footie though, Columbia are looking good indeed. And they didn't play with their strongest against Japan.
Japan were predictably impotent.
-
Expectations at Liverpool will be much higher this year.
That's the thing isn't it, people are expecting more.
Big question as to whether Suarez will stay lots of gossip now. I suppose there was always going to be this summer.

Louis van Gaal’s first competitive match as Manchester United manager will be against Swansea. The Premier League fixtures, released on Wednesday morning, gave United home advantage on the opening day of the season scheduled for 16 August.
The fixture is the same as the one which greeted David Moyes a year ago, albeit in Manchester rather than Wales. Dutchman Van Gaal, given the challenge of improving the fortunes of a team who finished seventh last season, then takes United to Sunderland and Burnley, before a home game against newly-promoted QPR.
Meanwhile, champions Manchester City will begin the defence of their title at Newcastle. Manuel Pellegrini’s men, who won the league by two points from Liverpool, travel to St James’ Park before facing Brendan Rodgers’ men at home the following weekend. The first Manchester derby of the season is scheduled for 1 November at the Etihad Stadium, with the reverse slated for 11 April.
Liverpool start with a home game against Southampton – Ronald Koeman’s first game in charge – while Chelsea, who finished third in 2013-14, travel to Burnley. The Clarets, who secured promotion back to the top flight under Sean Dyche, then travel to Swansea before facing United at Turf Moor.
Championship-winning Leicester face a challenging start. A home match against Everton is followed by games against Chelsea and Arsenal. The Gunners start at home to Crystal Palace, while their north London rivals Tottenham – managed now by Mauricio Pochettino – face West Ham at Upton Park. The third match in London on the opening weekend of the season sees QPR – promoted after a play-off final win – take on beaten FA Cup finalists Hull.
Alan Irvine’s first Premier League match as West Brom manager is a home contest against Sunderland, who secured Premier League survival thanks to a stirring revival under the leadership of Gus Poyet. The other match pairs Stoke and Aston Villa at the Britannia Stadium.
There are some appealing Boxing Day fixtures, including two London derbies. Arsenal are at home to QPR, while Chelsea host West Ham. Elsewhere on 26 December, Burnley tackle Liverpool at Turf Moor, Manchester City are at West Brom, while United are at home to Newcastle. Spurs head to Leicester, Sunderland host Hull, Palace take on Southampton, Everton meet Stoke and Villa go to Swansea.
Stoke is Liverpool’s destination on the final week of the season, when City are at home to Southampton and United travel to Hull. The final round of games, taking place on Sunday 24 May, also includes Everton against Tottenham, while Leicester and QPR are set to meet in a game which could be significant at the bottom end of the table. Arsenal wrap up against West Brom, Burnley go to Villa, Chelsea meet Sunderland, Palace meet Swansea and Newcastle take on West Ham.

And yet more proof!
Forget sharks: It's beavers that are truly terrifying. A fisherman in Belarus was bitten to death by one, and all he was doing was trying to take its picture, Sky News reports. The man spotted the beaver while fishing with friends at Lake Shestakov, but as he approached to take a photograph, the beaver bit him on the thigh. The animal managed to sever an artery, and his friends couldn't stop the blood flow.
Sky News helpfully reminds us that beavers can, of course, bite through trees. Beaver attacks are rare, though, and when they do occur, rabid beavers are generally to blame (as in this 2012 attack in upstate New York). But just this week, a video was posted on YouTube showing a beaver going after a Russian man, reports the Telegraph, and two girls were seriously injured after being mauled by a beaver in Virginia last year. In similar news with a happier ending, the AFP reports that a Komodo dragon "sunk its teeth into" an 83-year-old Indonesian woman on Tuesday—but she was able to fend it off.
