I've never had any problems at all and am always surprised that people just leave all their gear around. Anyone could just come and take it all away. Can't do that in Manchester!

Gala rentals?

I have a mate who has size 29 and he skis at GALA regularly. Not sure if he actually rents from the resort itself, but he does rent. Its in Yuzawa remember, so loads of road-side rental places. I would think they would have larger boots at a place like GALA. -
Best in Niigata is Ishiuchi Maruyama. When the snow is good (ie NOT after a day of sun) and when they open all the night runs, it's great.
