  1. hey NoFakie, thank you very much for your kind words towards my board!!
  2. Yeah Nat, it has to be skiers only because it's called heliskiing.. They can't advertise heliboarding coz then the skiers wouldn't come.. The price for the Kagura thing was 16000,-
  3. Hey robbot, are we talking about the same top run of Kagura..? The ungroomed one? At least last weekend they didn't have the top chair going, even though on Monday the weather was absolutely perfect. Anybody know why? It was painful to watch what looked like perfect pow when you didn't feel like hiking it up w/o snowshoes...
  4. Excellent point, ivo! They obviously don't think the same way as (we) boarders... [This message has been edited by Kuma (edited 17 January 2002).]
  5. What's with this? Are they selling these Swiss/Austrian/Finnish/whatever national ski team outfits in Jimbocho, or are they actually buying them from the racers (during '98 games perhaps) themselves? Is it just the extra glory that they get with the suit..? Just wondering.. Haven't seen this trend anywhere else - or if I have, the outfits have been worn by Japanese. BTW, thanks for the great weekend guys! (you know who you are..) [This message has been edited by Kuma (edited 15 January 2002).]
  6. metal7; They just had coverage on the snow monsters on the News yesterday evening - from now until end of February was what they said..
  7. As for the board, depends on your style of riding.. As well as on your strategic measures.. Tell about those and all those semi-pros on this site will probably give you a helping hand? Have a good weekend all, see ya all @ Kagura/Kandatsu/Naeba -area!!
  8. Good topic.. Started with skiing at 5, switched to boarding at 14-15. But still - never too late! [This message has been edited by Kuma (edited 11 January 2002).]
  9. At least yesterday in Gala they were going thru their record lists in alphabetical order instead of Jpop-all-the-time; we got full doses of Backstreet Boys as well as Black Sabbath! Rrrrrock! But then again, we also "enjoyed" the Japanese X-mas rap... I almost liked the "silent night, holy night"-part.. (sick me) Oops - almost forgot the most important part, two feet of fresh yesterday!
  10. yeah miteyak, i was about write about the same thing on the step-in thread.. How much more riding time does it _really_ give you..?? You spend one or two more minutes at the cafe or lodge or whatever sippin' your hot cocoa and voila; you've wasted all those earned 10 seconds/run... At least so far I haven't managed to spend more then 10-15 seconds/run for strapping - and why the hell would one sit on the snow and get one's ass wet? cheers, kuma
  11. Hey Nat - of course I managed. And after that night had a blast yesterday as well while celebrating our nation's indepence.. But regarding Dec 21st - hell yeah! It's most likely (&hopefully) gonna be my last working day before heading for the holidays so that should be big enough of a reason for some all-nite boozin'...
  12. Oh c'mon Nat! Do you actually prefer Niseko over some nice drinking sessions..? Get your priorities right girl! -is that the sound of jealousy i hear-
  13. While waiting for da powda.. why not; board - burtonx2 bindings - salomon&burton boots - ride&burton pants - burton jacket - peperoni goggles - smith hat - made by mom back in '85 (still fits!) gloves - can't see under all that ducktape.. Man, my ears are still hurting after last night - thanks to gav's performances.
  14. Tokyo.. Looking forward to getting out of town on weekends. Wouldn't mind some company and rides to slopes
  15. Hey there, could anyone tell how the Nasu area resorts (Hunter, Jeans, etc.) are like for a serious boarder??
  16. Same thing here; been in Tokyo just a couple of months but intend to have a good time in the slopes this winter - all I need is some nice people to ride with.. I'm a Finnish guy, been boarding for several years, enjoy freeriding the most. Let's see if Japan can beat BC, Canada; that's where I started my season last year before I had to return home...
