Good place, been there a lot.

Someone mentioned the Cult. Their new album, heard it last night. Not impressed.
No "Love Removal Machines" on there

That is really really bad yes.

I always think it makes sense to have automatic taps and no doors that you need to grab onto and open towards you in public toilets. I have been known to use a tissue to open the doors. (In particularly scary cases).

Mr Donuts Old Fashioned style donuts - especially the honey one.

Just going back to takyubin. It is just brilliant here in Japan, what a superb service. Arrive Narita 3pm. Suitcases to go to Nagano for 9-10am next morning --- arrive spot on 9am. Nice.

Not that bad here as yet.

It will be good to see it again. Let's chatting.

Very important point, especially for beginners. My first time I went out in bad conditions = bad idea. It nearly put me off completely. Nice & fluffy is what we need. -
Whoa bushpig - what is that?!!

I'm interested to see what happens with 57 Varieties and his wish to go over to Liverpool. Can't see AF letting him go, but he seems to be determined if the papers are to be believed (ha!). I suppose one of the big attractions of Liverpool is all the Spanish being spoken there.

Er, weird.
Quote:BANGKOK, Thailand - Thai police officers who break rules will be forced to wear hot pink armbands featuring "Hello Kitty," the Japanese icon of cute, as a mark of shame, a senior officer said Monday.Police officers caught littering, parking in a prohibited area, or arriving late — among other misdemeanors — will be forced to stay in the division office and wear the armband all day, said Police Col. Pongpat Chayaphan. The officers won't wear the armband in public.
The striking armband features Hello Kitty sitting atop two hearts.
"Simple warnings no longer work. This new twist is expected to make them feel guilt and shame and prevent them from repeating the offense, no matter how minor," said Pongpat, acting chief of the Crime Suppression Division in Bangkok.

Thanks for that Go Native interesting.
Things often tend to get blown out of all proportion don't they?

Where was that soubriquet?
They were probably just envious as they know lefties are the genius peeps of this world -
If I had 3 months I'm sure want to move around.
It seems a waste to come for so long and not visit more than one region. I might spend on month in Nagano, one month doing a bit of Tohoku (though the places there are more spread out) and a month up in Hokkaido (I heard there are some decent places there).

If you want to know more "official" stuff, this pdf file has info on all the bids
http://multimedia.olympic.org/pdf/en_report_1184.pdf
"Sochi proposes a very good concept based around an ice cluster and a mountain snow zone 49 km/ 50 minutes apart. The bid puts forward a new approach to the ice cluster which takes the form of an Olympic Park. The Olympic Park would be newly constructed 25 km from Sochi city centre on the coast of the Black Sea, 7 km from Sochi airport and would include all ice venues, the main Olympic Village, the Olympic Stadium for Opening and Closing Ceremonies, the Medals Plaza, the International Broadcast Centre /Main Press Centre (IBC/MPC) and IOC hotels. The Krasnaya Polyana mountain zone would contain all snow and sliding venues, an Olympic Village and a media sub-centre.
The Municipality of Sochi extends from the coast to the mountain zone thus encompassing all Olympic venues under a single, governing body.
With the majority of competition and non-competition venues to be built, the Sochi bid presents both an opportunity to create a new “custom-built” winter sports area with state-of-the-art facilities, but also the challenge of a major construction project within a defined period.
The concept is driven by the strong vision “Gateway to the Future”, with the following objectives:
– to transform Sochi into a year-round tourist destination
by maximising the large scale summer tourism infrastructure during the winter season;
– to develop Russia’s first world-class ski resort;
– to create a centre for winter sports in Russia;
– to establish Russia’s first alpine, sliding and ski jumping
centre;
– to implement Russia’s new philosophy of investing
domestically for the future."

I went to Tomamu for a day. It was ok, nothing that amazing. There are a few areas to it (3) and it is what you might call medium sized. It's also not that far from Sahoro and so I think quite a few people who go there might take a day trip over to Tomamu.

My season was rubbish as it didn't really exist. I was out of Japan for most of the time and when I was here didn't have the tim to get out - apart from once to Myoko with some friends.

Hulk.
Not only is it boring, but the effects are not good and the Hulk can do silly things like nearly fly. Rubbish. (Sorry to all those hundreds of people who probably worked hard on it!)

Make your own cheese? That sounds difficult (but fun and delicious, etc....)

Where do they learn things like this, what I want to know.

Confetti is fun - like a mockumentary, crossing Four Weddings with The Office. I read it was largely improvised. Funny.
In Japan?
