  1. Look forward to seeing those torihada. I am planning on being up there in late February.

  3. You sure can try.... As your ticket is 'worth' the day at Gala, I would imagine you might be able to do that for the 600 yen. Don't quote me on that though!
  4. Ishiuchi Maruyama is actually in Minamiuonuma, not Yuzawa and so not covered by that ticket. I do not know if you would be able to upgrade the freebie ticket or not with a few hundred yen.
  5. This one? http://www.snowjapan.com/e/about/contact.html I have just checked and the form seems to be working properly. Unfortunately we get a ton of junk each day - many hundreds each day. We do of course filter and our system works most of the time, but there may be the odd case when something that should get through does not. The only thing I can really say is if we do not respond, sorry and please try again. Thanks.
  6. Of course, we intend to give full credit where due. Actually looking back and reading some of the stuff we have received is very amusing.
  7. Thanks pete - which "contact us" link are you referring to?
  8. If you have sent mails to the Forums moderators and we have not got back to you, it means that we have not received your mail (for whatever reason). We always reply to mails --- as long as we actually get them and they are not over-the-top unreasonable sarcasm/complaints/etc (in which case they get unceremoniously deleted). If they are extreme and/or just funny, then they get copied for inclusion in our forthcoming book (working title The Incredible Things People Say to Forum Moderators/Webmasters) before being deleted, of course. ratherb@thesnow - you have not posted en
  9. Of course. Not really here in Yuzawa, but we'll update that page a bit later on this morning when we have collected more information.
  10. Just in case you do not know about them, have you read our daily reports: http://www.snowjapan.com/e/daily/nowcalendar.php

  12. Yes, we are very particular about that point.... it's another of those 'what we are' things that we are very keen to keep to. Each has it's own character/style and they generally do a great job and we hope that we don't get on their nerves too much with our requests and comments! You know, from time to time we have actually had ski resorts/companies complain to us directly for things like saying it's raining when it is raining. Or saying that snow conditions are bad when snow conditions are bad. They actually asked us to lie or omit posting unfavourable info like that, 'for the sake
  13. Thank you again. Quote: although Im sure most will be bored with the commentry, especially those who live or travel frequently in the areas Im going. Maybe for some of those people, but in reality that group of people only makes up a small percentage of the people using the Forums (and an even smaller of the site as a whole). Many people likely do not realise that. I am quite sure that many people would enjoy reading about your experiences and it would help lots of other people thinking about visiting Japan, just like you were. You excited are you, panhead_pete?
  14. Well it's good to hear that and thank you for the comments. We hope that you have a great time when you visit. It is always very good to hear positive things like this and makes a change from (and almost makes it worth putting up with!) some of the nasty comments, sniping, feigned outrage and politics that sadly sometimes goes on in the background with a small number of particularly vociferous people. That's why this site was made in the first place all those years back by SJ#1 and it is still the underlying hope that we have for it and we do what we can to protect that. So,
  15. Ah, ok understood. My apologies. We'll do what we can, though not too sure who will be in Yuzawa over the weekend.

  17. I am very much hoping it is (and of course have no reason to believe it would be otherwise!) Looking forward to hearing about your trip. Hope you enjoy it.
  18. I'd just like to make one point here. It is very important to us that the information and descriptions that are on our site are accurate. If there is anything in any way incorrect or misleading - for any accommodation - we very much want to know about it (by PM or email please). Thanks.
  19. I will look into this again tomorrow just to make sure our settings etc are all ok. I'd prefer things like this discussed off the forums though, so if you have any findings or whatever please email me with them and we can go from there. Thanks.
  20. Some people won't be able to see those. I have just sent you an email explaining. If you don't have anything against the idea, please do upload them to our site and link them in that way if you want.
