  1. I paid the deposit on Saturday (4th) and was told "about 2 weeks" for delivery. My mental maturity strategic test is to NOT ring the dealership before the 18th!! It's tough going !!!!
  2. Bugger, I was going to hit you up for details for a season of free pies mmmmmmmmmmm........
  3. Expected high of 26 today - nice and sunny!!
  4. We've tried Tsugaike Kogen and will probably have another day there too. Where else Seemore?
  5. Does a bear poo in the woods?? Big Al Junior & I are season ticket holders in the Platinum section - Isle 301, Row 15 !! Are you going to be there? One question about the VW, how did you get on with the DSG? A client and a mate each had Golfs with the DSG and they both went belly up!!
  6. I view 'Cruisers in the same terms as John Lennon described blues music. He said something along the lines of: "If all music were chairs we would have all different varieties. Soft, comfy lounges, solid hardwood chairs, beautifully intricate mod-design chairs etc. The blues would be a chair and you would sit on it. It's the real thing." IMHO 'Cruisers fully deserve their legendary status. They are the duck's nuts! Once again - great rig Snowjunky!!
  7. Mate, you're not the only one. It's taking me all my mental strength to resist phoning up the dealership and repeating: "Is my ute ready yet?" "Is my ute ready yet?" "Is my ute ready yet?" "Is my ute ready yet?" Not unlike Bart & Lisa when they wanted to go to Mount Splashmore.
  8. Great rig Snowjunky - definitely ticks all the boxes: Room for survey equipment & pegs & stakes..........check Room for extra field party..........check Suitable for bush surveys..........check Suitable for invasion of Poland..........check
  9. All you can eat buffet lunch Onsen Tree skiing You're going to tell me Jennifer Hawkins does bikini-clad dinner dates there too.........
  10. Anyone know if there is still a public bus running between Happo One and Cortina? Or is there a better way of getting between the 2 resorts? We'll be staying in Happo. Made it to try a day at TK last year but would really love to try Cortina in Jan.
  11. Aaah.. Ta! I was thinking it was code for a type of plane but Google couldn't find one
  12. What do you pay for a litre of diesel in Japan? It's around $1-50 in Qld.
  13. Well I'm sure it's what the Dens Park crowd used to chant
  14. I've read that they are pressurised to a lower altitude (2000m) (1800m) than most other jet airliners and the cabin air has higher humidity than the norm which is supposed to dispense with that dry air feeling. However, several user reviews claim this translates to a "hot and stuffy" flight! They do appear to be considerably quieter than most other large airliners though. We're on the Jetstar 787 from Cairns to Narita in January.
  15. Ha ha ha. I always suspected that modern P.C. concepts might struggle in Dun Deh !!
  16. Anyone flown on Jetstar's (or anyone else's) new Boeing 787 yet?
  17. Mercedes (since around the Cretaceous period), BMW, Audi, Porsche and Maserati all produce diesel engine sports cars. In the case of Maserati, the engine was co-developed with Ferrari.
  18. In today's litigious society I would be carrying an all-encompassing indemnity disclaimer with the above statement Snowjunky !!
  19. Aha ! Pitlochry's only footballing claim to fame - Paul Sturrock !!
  20. Hey Tubby - on which side of Tannadice Street do your loyalties lie?
