its a wee box that you plug into ur TV that links your iTunes account on your PC or your Mac to enable you to stream onto your TV. It also carries in built apps such as Sky News, You Tube, Netflix, NBA TV, NHL TV and many various other things that allow you to watch internet content direct on your TV. Some you have to pay an extra fee for (as GG said with HULU) and others are free. I mainly use it to watch Youtube and movies that are on my PC, through my TV.
So,ummm, movies that you've acquired and not bought through iTunes can be played through Apple TV? That sounds good. Is the volume the same as the tv? I'd like to watch Game of Thrones on the big tv rather than my laptop starting April!

Are all your pictures of really short people? Or is it that deep?

I love the restaurants around Fukushima (one stop West of Umeda) so many varieties to choose from and very delicious. The Thai and Turkish are my favorite. Namba has lots of places for shopping, restaurants, and bars. We used to go to Absinthe a good bit.

DAY 46 : SUNDAY 12 JANUARY 2014
27 cm in the past 24hrs at MQ
As of today 721 cm (284") has fallen at MQ in Higashiyama
For the Lovelock family and Craig's last day in and around the Niseko Resort Area we chose to drive over to Rusutsu to escape the weekend and Bank Holiday crowds.
I'd had great reports from a mate that the powder was excellent yesterday, but the snow exceeded our wildest expectations.
You needed pitch to get through the volumes of snow and thankfully Rusutsu has long 30ish degree pitches in abundance.
We spent the morning skiing East Mt with great turns to be had dropping back to the Steamboat chair.
After lunch at the Gondola restaurant - better choice, more space than the Steamboat cafe - we found the best snow of the day over on Heavenly Ridge

Ria
Neil
Ian
Ria, Alex, Hayden and Ian headed back over to the East Mtn gondola base just before 3pm and Neil, Craig & I continued to find plenty of untracked snow right up to our finish at 4pm
Day of the Season. So far!
I'm drooling. Those pictures are outstanding! They make me want to hop on a plane and fly to Rusutsu right now! I'll definitely have to get up there once this season.

Interesting that Schumacher was wearing a helmet and it didn't help him out did it?

Renting and trying a few different skis with varying waist widths is a great idea. If you're doing that, I'd try from 99-116 just to see the difference in powder and on the groomers. I hope you'll have the snow conditions to really see the difference between the skis!

Skiing Muikabochi!!
Edit: if it's resorts you were asking about we've hit Shiga Kogen, Nozawa, and now Hakuba.

Cal, I checked out Pavel and then moved on to just looking at everybody and what they are doing. There are so many out there that I recommend looking at many different people and see their form and what they're doing and why they're doing it. I watched different videos for hours and hours to understand technique and learn different movements. Once you do that if you have any questions I'll try to answer them from my limited experience. For what it's worth, I've been able to rip up the trails this year more than any other year after doing this training!

Get something that's 100+ in the waist. You'll wish you had it as you hit the powder on the nongroomed runs and there are plenty. Yesterday we had about 60+ cm here and groomed runs were still powder runs. I usually ski powder and groomers with a ski that has a 116 waist and have no issues. At 100-105 you'll get used to it in no time.

It means Merry Christmas!! Hope you have a great day!

DPS 112's (99's?) and your others skis will be perfect. I love 112-114 range underfoot as they're still great on groomers.

Tsugaike is great for learning.

No, not burying skis for a while I hope! Same with jacket, pants, fleeces, etc! I picked up some new goggles so that's it for me this season because I don't want to get outta control!

Which brings us back to the whole sexless society here. Must suck to not be shagging!
-
What skis are you bringing? Just curious.
-
Three days of cleaning!? Damn, that sucks.

Go to the Master Braster

You could lock up a pair at the base where the ski rack is in front of lifts and restaurants. It wouldn't be an issue. Typically, I've not heard of skis or boards being stolen like back home as much here.
-
Cool, thanks. Might have to get it and try it.

Tsugaike, are they going to ever open trees there?

Had a great workout today. Yes, I'm definitely in much better shape this year than last year. Might even be in the best shape since I was young! Definitely enjoying workouts again, and YouTube with all the example videos and variations help keep me from getting bored. Workout out can be quite boring. That actually might just be because I'm actually lazy as crap!

I found an 18 year Glenfiddich for 5000 yen...is that a good deal? Most 18 years are double that at least., so is it just an average bottle? Has anybody had that?
-
At a nabe party last night and there were several different bottles of sake. I must say that Koshinokanbai 越乃寒梅 was not as good as I remember. Has the quality dropped off? Has it become the Asahi of the Sake world?

I also don't understand why people don't put their lights on here at dawn/dusk, or especially when it's raining hard and visibility is poor, which we had several days ago! What's up with that?
Another one is people who drive K-cars like their either a bus, or a Ferrari. Either way it just gets on my nerves. I had a guy so close to my bumper I'm surprised I didn't get hit. I couldn't go any faster because of traffic yet he was swerving side to side and probably a foot off my rear end. I don't get it. I can't go any faster and neither can anybody else. WTF are people thinking. The people who think their kei is a bus also piss me off. One lady couldn't get between two cars when, in reality, I could've gotten a bus through it. The same lady finally turned left onto a big road but turned so slowly and so wide that it took her longer than it really should've. I just don't understand how bad some of these people get an actual license because it's obvious they can't drive for shit. Wait. Just pay two grand and anybody can drive!

Gozaimasu, for sure and a lightweight down that packs quite small among other necessities.
