I think we are looking at a trip out of Tokyo to Niigata, looks real nice and simple to me. -
The one time I went to Zermatt, that was the best for me. Hope that I can see better in Japan!

Been skiing most winters in Europe (Austria. Italy. Switzerland) for the last 12 years. Not enough though would love to live in the snow.
