  1. Sugi and Akakan are pretty good, but as everyone is saying they are a little flatter than a lot of other areas. Some very good lines if you know where to look though Seki Onsen can get pretty damn good too.....Just don't forget your snorkel !!
  2. I once took some thirty-two boots with a broken quick-pull lace to Xebio. They replaced the laces on both boots while I waited for 1000 yen!
  3. That is at the top of Goryu. Far from KFC and nowhere near as romantic
  4. The Fish is a great board but you can't ride switch in tight trees it just buries itself but with the Birdman you can although I am not a fan of tight trees sometimes you can't avoid them I am not about to ride switch through tight trees on any board The Birdman is a directional shape, so you wouldn't wanna be trying it on that either. Recipe for disaster! The Ride Slackcountry is the weapon to choose for that kind of suicidal behaviour, as it is as close to a true twin-tip shape as you can get in a powder specific board
  5. Thank you! It is a really nice shot! Which trees were you riding in relation to this photo Gunma Boarder? It all looks pretty nice Mostly the trees between the two runs in the background. They were really good! For more info you will have to read the thread I'm about to write Looks like a lot of fun to be had in there! Is it a one lift hot-lap?..... Definitely gonna go there with Bushiman as soon as the weather looks better and there is some new snow We should coordinate a visit and I will bring the 161 Slackcountry for you to check out

  7. I considered the 2012 Birdman when I bought both the Fish and the Slackcountry. Nice board and looks like it can handle groomers as well as big mountain stuff. Just too big and clumsy for the tight trees and situations where you need to turn on a dime.
  8. Nice photos muika That place looks like it has a lot of potential! Can't wait to get there and give it a rinsing
  9. I might be interested. I'm curently riding a 163 Rossignol Imperial which is a beginner to intermediate board made for groomers. I've never riden a powder specific board and I have been riding powder for years! At 183 cm and maybe 83 kg, is that the right length for me? Also if I went with a fish what would be the right length? I've always been a ride what I got and safe some money type (My board was 3,500 yen with bindings), but I have ridden with people with powder specific boards and seen the difference in action and am interested in making the switch. I really don't know very much about ge
  10. I ride a 156 Burton Fish and a 157 Ride Slackcountry. I also use a 157 Ride Society for park/regular mountain use. I'm looking to offload an almost new 2012/13 161 Ride Slackcountry as I don't need it.
  11. I use my Burton Fish for the trees and it is awesome! It's a 2009 model, but had only seen a week on snow when I picked it up used for pretty cheap. I also have two, 2012/2013 Ride Slackcountry boards which have only seen a week on snow each. They are awesome powder boards and suited for the trees or the bigger, more open terrain. They will work pretty good in the chop and on groomers too! This is the main advantage over the Fish I am willing to part with the 161 Slackcountry if you are still looking for a powder board?
  12. On a closer inspection, it says: "Your application will take at least 4 weeks from when your declaration form is received by Her Majesty’s Passport Office in the UK." So I guess it does go back to London, and may well take longer than 4 weeks......bummer
  13. Hmmmm...... from what I'm seeing on the UK.gov website application it seems to be going to HK and will take around 4 weeks .... Says it was updated February 13th..... But most seem to agree that it now goes back to London and not HK anymore..... Anyone actually renewed their British passport from Japan in the last few months? When did you last do it Winter Vacation?
  14. Hi SJ users, My 10 year British passport expires on the 14th of April 2014..... in around 8 weeks. I need to renew it ASAP and I know that it takes around 4 weeks to have it sent to Hong Kong, processed and returned to me. Have any British SJ users had to renew their passport from Japan recently? I would appreciate any advice/suggestions/help/info on the procedure, as it all looks a little daunting on the official site Please contact me if you have any experience on the renewal process. Thanks. NECK.
  15. No Oze for us this weekend Cheers for all the useful info though Gunma Boarder
