Run 12, on a deep day they used to leave it ungroomed, the areas around lift 4, and looking at the map now, they don't seem to have my favourite area (and lift) off to the lookers left of the Nishiyama Romance Lifts? At the end of a sunny day I would take Milkyway and just admire the fantastic views...

Glad you liked it Gunma Boarder! I love Oze Iwakura, was the first place I experienced waist deep light powder all on piste, and was the place I spent most of my first 3 winters in Japan. I have taken friends there for their first experience of riding in Japan and they were instant fans. When I was a regular there, no one except the odd foreigner hit the trees between runs.

About 11:20ish the Gondola and King Quad 2 opened, then at about 3 the Center 4 opened. Had a few runs down the groomers working on my technique 2 days ago. Only managed 22,500 vertical meters

Same here. I'm heading back up a fortnight from this Saturday. Can't wait. How was Korea? I've always been curious, but have then always managed to scrape enough coin together hit Niseko. Oh and hello from a fellow Hongkie... I lived there (Korea) for a few years, and I agree with Wangta (intersting choice of name if it's Korean), a lot of icy groomers with snow making. They just don't get the snow like Japan, as it's the East Sea (Sea of Japan) that delivers all the lovely moisture that falls as snow.
