Hi all I'm doing a Nagano trip for the first time next month after doin a few seasons in Niseko. Having a look at Shiga Kogen, Hakuba and Nozawa. I've researched Hakuba and Nozawa and have them booked but bit thin on advice re best area to base our selves in Shiga kogen. I'll have wheels and with the family so not chasing Apre. I'm a snowboarder and after steep runs. After the best powder(like everyone) not that interested in snowboard parks etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated and if you know of a good ryokan or pension upto ichi man per person in that recommended area tha

Anyone let me know how far between nozawa and SK by car? Any recommendations at either resort for Ryokans/pensions in the under 10,000 yen bracket? Cheers

Hi all Heading to Nozawa and Hakuba in Feb 2009. maiden trip . I lived in Niseko for 4 seasons early 90s. Wondered if some of the Nagano gurus could enlighten me re good places to stay in Nozawa and Goryu area? My wife's Japanese so Ryokans and Minshyukus are the preferred option if anyone has stumbled upon cool places not too far from the lifts at reasonable prices. Finally anytips re the best resort in the Hakuba area re off the trails for snowboarding? Still haven't had any difinitive answers to the Niseko vs Hakuba debate. Anyone that has done alot of both like to weigh in? Cheers in a
