The Tokaido Shinkansen connects Tokyo Station with Shin Osaka Station.
That famous image of the bullet train rushing past with Mount Fuji in the background? That'll be the Tokaido Shinkansen!
It is the most heavily travelled high speed train route in the world.
There are three types of train services - Nozomi, Hikari and Kodama.
Nozomi - the fastest trains on the line with limited stops. Hikari - slower than Nozomi but faster than Kodama. Kodama - the slowest service, stopping at all the stations on the line.
The Kodama trains typically run shorter distances than the Nozomi and Hikari trains and are often used for travel to and from cities along the line.
