Mikawa Onsen is a small ski hill located in Aga town to the east of Niigata city in Niigata Prefecture. It is one of the closest resorts to Niigata city and so convenient for people based in that region. The 2017-2018 season marks the 35th anniversary for Mikawa Onsen.
Niigata Prefecture is located in the central region of Honshu to the north of Tokyo and has a 250km long coastline facing the Sea of Japan. Convenient transportation links make Niigata very easy to get to from Tokyo and other surrounding regions. There are over 50 ski and snowboard resorts in Niigata Prefecture, ranging from small one-lift hills to some of the most well-known and popular ski resorts in Japan. While they are dotted around the mountains of the prefecture, most are concentrated in the southern regions - in particular the Yuzawa town and Minamiuonuma city area in the Chuetsu region and Myoko city in the Joetsu region.
Information for about 80% of the ski hills around Japan - and most of the larger ones - has now been checked and updated. We hope to have all the updating completed by the end of November. Gambarimasu!
