Iwappara was the first of the larger resorts to open in Yuzawa Town, and is still one of the more popular resorts in the area. It's wide open main slope is popular with both beginners and people wanting to practice their skiing and snowboarding techniques. Journey towards the top of the resort for magnificent views of the valley and Tanigawa-dake....once you have taken in the views, try the steep and challenging mogul course from the very top.

Iwappara and Joetsu Kokusai join forces!
Iwappara has teamed up with nearby Joetsu Kokusai resort (in Minamiuonuma, about 20-25 minutes drive from Iwappara) to offer joint tickets and events and more.

Kid's Paradise:
Iwappara gets a new "Kids Paradise" area this season. There's a moving walkway so it's easy to get around - this has become one of the biggest children's areas on the snow in Japan.
Snow Park:
Snow Parks are fun at these resorts. The Iwappara Snow Park is for those wanting to try out the half pipe, kicker, rail, box..... then when you have progressed why not challenge the Big Kicker at Joetsu Kokusai.
Sponge Bob Snow Camp:
Sponge Bob Snow Camp - for beginner children getting used to and playing in the snow and improving skills
Sponge Bob Kids Park:
Sponge Bob Kids Park - once they have got used to sliding, challenge the park! Features arch and wave.

Getting to Iwappara
BY CAR:
Getting to Iwappara by car is very easy. Get to Yuzawa on the Kanetsu Expressway and you will see the Iwappara resort stretching out before you as you approach the Yuzawa IC. The resort can be reached in less than 5 minutes from the IC.
BY BUS:
Iwappara Shuttle take you to the resort from the main Echigo Yuzawa station to the bottom of the resort in less than 10 minutes. (Adults: 200 yen, child: 100 yen).
