Hida Highland is located in Hida city in the north-eastern region of Gifu Prefecture.
Gifu Prefecture is located in the Chubu region of the central region of Honshu island, and it one of only a handful of landlocked prefectures. It shares borders with (from the north) Toyama, Nagano, Aichi, Mie, Shiga, Fukui and Ishikawa. Most of the ski and snowboard resorts in Gifu are located in the northern region of the prefecture – in Gujo city, Takayama city, Hida city and Shirakawa village.

The closest train station is Hida Hosoe on the Takayama Honsen line, just 10km away. The larger Hida Furukawa Station is just over 15km away and a 20 minutes or so journey.

Hida Highland is about 25km from the Takayama IC exit on the Chubu Jukan Expressway and just under 55km from the Toyama IC exit on the Hokuriku Expressway. The base of the ski hill is about 1km off Route 41 (also known as the Azuma Bypass).
