I went with a friend who had never 'boarded before as the brochure said they had mostly beginner runs. Not true. The runs were at least intermediate and even then they would be tricky.

The conditions were very icy and we got a full refund and went to Takasu.

Takasu was great and we had a good day.

I would never go back to Winghills,, nor would I recommend the place to anyone.

Go to Takasu instead

This time last year this resort had heaps of snow - there was snow everywhere (if you remember).

This day it rained and there were only 2 lifts working, for a narrow artificially covered slope, which wasn't that bad but the rain was awful I would say every got wet to the skin within a couple of hours, but hey if you got nothing else to do and can afford it JUST DO IT !!

Due to very strong winds the Gondola was shut till 1 pm. It snowed hard also so visibility at times was, like 2 metres, but the lovely powder snow made it all worth it.

It cleared up by 1, the wind dropped the gondola got going, not many crowds, all in all totally awesome dude

Go here on a weekday and you will love the lack of crowds, this particular day it snowed all day surface conditions were near perfect tohough visibility was not great. Treacherous downhill winding narrow road this particular day the road was icy and traffic stopped completely for 3 hours

A 2 hour drive home turned into 6 - the Resort must do more to ensure the road remains ice free (Salt/Sand other??) The resort itself when uncrowded is GREAT!

Is going to be a short season!

Not even mid-March but snow is melting rapidly - slushy conditions, bad control very easy to fall (there were people falling all over the place).

Get there quick before snow has GONE

Runs are long, but not plentiful. You'll ski them all before long. Some good pitches for Gifu, though.

A worthwhile trip from Osaka/Kyoto/Nagoya

A great place for a day trip from Kansai.

The place is kind of small, but during the week it's not very crowded. There's a decent board park (w/ a halfpipe) and well as some deserted black diamond runs. also, there's a brand new Rotenburo (outdoor bath) that's only 700 yen. a great place to relax after a day on the slopes. also, the view from the top of the mtn. is unbelievable! The only down

I have been here a couple of times. Some pretty good runs.

Just be sure not park in the carpark tower on a busy day. Took us three hours just to get out of the carpark.

When the attendants try and force you in there just pretend not to see them and park to the left of the tower.
