Okutone Snow Park review
Quikly dropped in here for a day on the way home from Niigata and managed to get a 5 hour ticket for only 3,000. A nice price...

The courses are all quite steep which makes for some nice fast runs. They are also relatively wide making it easy to dodge people. On this particular day it wasn't very crowded though, so this wasn't an issue.

Lots of snowboarders at this place and lots of jumps, terrain parks and rails.

Tanbara Ski Park review by simonwb
Coming from Ikebukero, Tanbara is an easy option, I think they even do tours from Kawagoe, so it's just a matter of jumping on the bus and going.

If you want to go snowboarding and you don't wan't to blow too much cash.

Tanbara is a good option

Kagura review by simonwb
This place was great! The dump the night before we went helped too.

The lifts start early 7:30 which makes for some nice early runs.

The placed itself is really wide which makes for a nice variety of scenery. Lots of really nice tree runs and the patrol seem to be very relaxed with going off the courses. We went on a Saturday and it wasn't that busy at all..

Another thing I realy liked about it was the

Tsugaike Kogen review by simonwb
We went up here just before Xmas and the first thing I really noticed was how wide the place was. This is great in terms of the number of people the place could handle, but the lower runs on the mountain are definitely more suited to beginners.

The gondola to the top was a good ride and then from the top there was a lot good runs and some nice places to drop into and play in the trees a

In terms of convenience and the packages available Gala is a great option. The ability to buy the full package with Shinkansen and lift tickets makes it a really easy way to get onto the mountain.

I have heard that becuse of this thought the place can get pretty packed. Every time I've been out there though we must have been lucky because there were never any long waits.

Gala is a great way to spend the day on the

Happo-one review by simonwb
Happo One was a good day out.

The weather was wicked which also helped.

The area itself is really wide which is good for beginners, but there are also some steeper runs in there.

The surrounding area looks like it would be a great place to stay for a trip

Niseko Mountain Resort Grand Hirafu review by simonwb
We have been heading to Niseko for the past three years and we've never had a bad time.

The area itself is easy to navigate and usually within walking distance from accomodation.

The snow quality is AMAZING! Plus hitting the onsens at the end of the day is an added bonus. You can pick up cheap packages from most travel agents. T

hey usually include, flights, transfers, accomodation, lift tickets and some meals. If you're in
