Yamaboku Wile Snow Park
Although small this resort offers some excellent variety with something for every skill level. By far the best feature is the lack of queues at the lifts, thus making it possible to get a lot more time on the slopes than at Niigata etc.

For the adventurous there’s a 13km run which is supposedly the longest in Japan.

Beautiful scenery and close proximity too many onsens make for a very relaxing and fun filled getaway.
Date visited: From 09 January, 2005
Snow condition on visit: Runs in good condition with some powder off-piste.
Things I liked: No queues, hotels & onsens in walking distance. Very friendly service at Lodge Canadian.
Things I didn't like: Some plants still above snow on steep parts of upper slopes. Bus time tables.
