Coming almost straight from one of the worst australian seasons on record to 2 days of sunny powder in northen Japan was unreal.

On the 3rd day, grass started to become visible lower down, but none the less, the top of the mountain was great an the sun was shining for the 3rd day in a row, in a place that recieve 2 sunny days a month on average.

Woke up early next day, it did not stop snowing for the rest

My first trip to Japan did not dissapoint. Three days where we had amazingly deep powder. Dry as anything. There is some great off piste skiing to be had.

The Japanese are the most friendly peolple on earth and the village life is great with plenty of good restaurants and bars. I had heard that it can be quite expensive but you can get away with about ten dollars for lunch and about fifteen for dinner. Although I was not

Had a fantastic 10 days in Rusutsu. The village/hotel is a little surreal, although this has little impact on your holiday. The staff couldn't be more helpful and love to practice their English.

The food was very varied and the Hokkaido beef is fantastic - even the non-fish eater had plenty to chose from. The Japanese restaurant Kakashi was our favourite.
