My fave in Fukushima, especially as it is good for boarders. As one of the other reviews said, the straights at the bottom kinda spoil things, but generally a well laid out and good resort.

Most resorts in the Kanto area that I have been to are fairly uninteresting. This resort has the same apperance until you take a closer look. There is huge valley connecting the two parts of the resort that is littered with trees. Although in some areas they are kind of thick they are totally skiable. Even found some 3 meter mushrooms bringing back memories of Niseko's Strawberry Fields.

The valley's turmunus has a lift at the bottom so you don't even

A really nice resort in deepest Fukushima - runs up to about 3.5km, but they are steeper than quite a lot of local competition. It makes it a more challenging resort than others in the area ie Deco, and for that reason alone I like it lots.

You can get a lunch plus drink plus dscount on rental deal at 7-11, all for 4500 yen, but don't forget the 1000 yen deposit for the magnetic ski pass thingy - we

Decent place in Fukushima fairly near to where I live. Lucky me! While not the best of Japan, it is fairly good size and has some good runs. Seems to be especially popular with boarders and an "in" crowd, but never gets too busy.

Better than most of the other resorts round there parts - and a good day out!

Overall the facilities were very modern and in good condition. There is a good variety of runs and plenty of powder at all levels of the mountain. Good off-piste areas for tree/deep powder runs at the top of the mountain. A good number of trees intersperesed in the other runs. Several small jumps are set up on some of the courses. There are a some flat areas which can be a pain for boarders; it's possible to glide through these

Great spot for a day trip or weekend.

Fairly quiet in the afternoon once all the schoold kids left.

Lots of exploring to do and fun to be had in the trees

I loved this place. This year I have finally advanced past the beginning/intermediate slopes, and am wanting to challenge myself. Nekoma was perfect for this.

I went there once as an absolute beginner, and although it was fun, it's great for intermediate/advanced snowboarders. The selection of runs is fairly good, and although the runs aren't quite as long as I like, they were challenging and quite a bit of fun. I highly recommend it.

Apparantly, it's the preferred resort of people from

Made my second trip to this little resort this year over the weekend (23 FEB 02). It is a quite enjoyable resort. All the accomodations are pretty modern. It is enough off the beaten path that the majority of the crowd is locals. Both time I have gone on the weekend and never had to wait in lift lines. Snow conditions have been good but the top of the mountain seems to get a lot of wind.

About 2/3 down

If its the country you like, Grandeco will certainly tickle that little snowboard fancy we all have burning inside of us.

Situated in the town of Inawashiro it offers spectacular views from the mountain top to the other ranges and the local lake. Rest facilities and restuarants are a plenty though dont expect every dish to be top class.

If its a ski or board school you want there are various teachers and though I haven't seen it yet I am led

Wow. Great site, you have done it again. Well done. Alts is a decent place for both skiers and snowboarders, and it isn't as crowded as some that I have been to in other parts of Honshu. A good selection of runs.

For a small resort, Grandeco has surprisingly long runs. The way that they are layed out, makes them stretch out to as much as 4 kilometers. There is a good mix of snowboarders and skiiers. I went there a couple of times last winter, and it was enough to make me buy a season ticket this year. \r\nThe courses are long, and tend to be beginner or intermediate. As last year was my first year, I wasn't able to try

My wife and I snowboarded yesterday (01-05-2002) for the first time this season. Sometimes it was blizzard white out conditions, but had waist deep powder outside of the groomed runs and most of the groomed areas were knee deep by mid day. It was primo conditions for Japan standards, especially this early in the season. However, they were slow in getting all of the lifts up and running.

None the less, it was a good day for a surfer who's been
