Yuzawa Town is located in the southern region of Niigata Prefecture, on the border with Gunma Prefecture. Yuzawa is just 80 minutes away from central Tokyo using the Joetsu Shinkansen train. The main Route 17 road runs through the town, as does the Kanetsu Expressway.

The closest train station is Iwappara Ski Jo Mae Station on the Joetsu line (3km), but the main Echigo Yuzawa Station (6km) is most commonly used.
