Enjoy our winter hot pot dish filled with local mushrooms. The summer menu includes eggplant dishes, salad and local beef. Dinner is available if requests are made before 9:00am on the day you arrive. Dinner and breakfast are served in the dining room on the 2nd floor. Instead of a Japanese-style meal, you can also request Western-style meals. Also, if you prefer, fish dishes can be changed to meat dishes and rice can be changed to bread or potatoes (all requests need to be made two days prior to arrival). You may bring food to your room but please do not cook it in your room or do not eat it in the dining room. The coffee shop is open during the winter season only. Menu samples in the shop are ramen (noodles), soba (noodles), curry and rice etc. There is no convenience store around the hotel but a shop in our hotel sells some food.
Free internet access is available in the shop. Free wireless Internet access is also provided in the lobby area. We have outdoor baths with natural hot spring water and they are surrounded by snow in winter – you can enjoy a soak under the stars. The private baths (family baths) are open for 24 hours without extra charge. In the private baths, the hot water is directly extracted from a hot spring. There is also a sauna by the communal baths. Other facilities include ski locker rooms, coffee shop, vending machines, ski, board & wear rentals, ping pong, lobby shop and free car parking.

The Shiga Kogen ski resorts are located in Yamanouchi town in the northern part of Nagano Prefecture, to the north east of Nagano City. The closest exit on the Joshinetsu Expressway is the Shinshu Nakano IC. The closest train station is the Yudanaka Station on the Nagano Dentetsu Nagano line which stops in the Yudanaka region of Yamanouchi, at the base of Shiga Kogen and a bus service from there to Shiga Kogen takes about 20 minutes. Bus services to Shiga Kogen are also available from the main Nagano Station and take about 1 hour.
The Hasuike bus stop is just 1 minute walk from the hotel.

Hotel Shirakabaso is ideally located in the ski and snowboard resort of Shiga Kogen. The nearest ski area is only a three-minute walk from the hotel and the nearest bus stop (Hasu-ike Stop) is less than one minute on foot. Come, stay and enjoy skiing and hiking!
