Hakuba village is located in the north western region of Nagano Prefecture and is about an hour road journey from central Nagano City and Nagano Station.
The local Oito train line and Route 148 road both run through the village.
The Hakuba area is easily accessed from three expressways and around an hour drive from each. The Azumino IC exit on the Nagano Expressway is about 50km to the south of the central Hakuba Station area (access via Route 147 and Route 148). The Nagano IC exit on the Joshinetsu Expressway is about 45km to the east of the central Hakuba Station area (access via Route 19, Prefecture Road 31 and Prefecture Road 31). The Itoigawa IC exit on the Hokuriku Expressway is about 45km to the north of the central Hakuba Station area (access via Route 148).

Double Black Hotel is about 5 minutes by car from Hakuba Station. The hotel offers free transfer to and from Hakuba bus and train stations.

At Nagano Train station, catch the local bus service to Hakuba. Tickets can be bought from the train station opposite the train ticket office, to the left of a small cafe as you come through the train ticket barriers. Buses leave regularly each, normally about 10-15 mins after the Shinkansen arrives. Total travel time is about 4 hours door to door. Please phone ahead to let our hotel manager know what bus you will be on and they will pick you up from Hakuba bus terminal.

Our "On Mountain" program has been developed for our guests so that they can get the most out of their time whilst holidaying in Hakuba. We specialize in snow sports, and have developed our "On Mountain" program for all our guests. We will take you onto the mountains and show you all the best powder and corduroy on the slopes. We will advise you on all your equipment needs (rentals, repairs, tuning and waxing) and arranging for instruction, mountain guides, children's programs, clothing needs, day tours, dining recommendations and reservations, massages and spa services. Our personal shuttle service will deliver you to all ten of the resorts in the valley.
