Charcoal-grilled mountain village cuisine “Irori Kensan-yaki

Irori kensan-yaki is regional cooking introduced from snowy Echigoji. With the meaning of sharing of things presented to Nobility, here in Kamimoku, it is said that long ago, when the Battles of Uesugi and Takeda clans lasted for long periods, the samurai skewered wild vegetables and river fish on their swords against the sunset sky and cooked them over an open fire.

In the restaurant 'Soten-an', ’Nanryu-an’ you can enjoy the natural culinary delights of the region, in specially prepared unique dishes. We obtain the freshest ingredients direct from local farmers so that you can be sure of the highest quality and freshness. We use these local ingredients to prepare a range of interesting and tasty dishes while retaining the original taste as much as possible. You can enjoy our meals both at lunchtimes and evenings. Reservations are required for evening meals.
