There was even a light dusting of snow overnight but today has turned into a fine one and much calmer than it has been of late. It's going to warm up a bit but not too much keeping quite chilly this morning.
Much more limited from today as some resorts close for weekdays or altogether for the season.

We sure got a lot of rain over the weekend. Really heavy rain falling through into the middle of Sunday and I can't imagine it has done any favours for the snow conditions and hearing of some slides on the mountain as well.
Wet sleet/snow was falling earlier on this morning and now a little later it snowing. Still wet though, but definitely colder than it has been. Strong winds are persisting today with basically most of the ski lifts closed at the resort areas that remain open for the season. Niseko Annupuri has been closed completely while just a few lower lifts at Grand Hirafu. All very limited.
So from today it is just those two areas with Niseko Village taking a break until 27th April, when they will re-open for Golden Week, and Niseko Hanazono who have closed for the season.
Tomorrow should be slightly warmer with a mix of cloud and the chance of light sleet/snow from time to time.

That was the season at Naeba.
April comes around way too fast each season of course and this year is no different.
Kagura will of course be open for a fair while longer.
From today we'll be posting a report here on Naeba Now perhaps once a week until the end of the season. The Yuzawa Now report pages on SnowJapan will continue to be updated right through until Kagura closes, so please do keep checking that as we will be posting any specific Kagura news.
Top runs open again today with the Gondola and the top Yamabiko lifts doing their thing. The sun has been out this morning but it has been windy - though not enough to stop the lifts, here in Nozawa anyway.
Hopefully tomorrow we will get calmer conditions and there should be quite a bit of sun in the coming week.
The snow continues to dry up and disappear from lower slopes of the resort areas, with only a bit left now on the Karasawa area. Sad!
Still, up top it's great snow cover still.

Fine, just windy
The spring storm is still with us. Strong winds have really messed with the opening plans of resorts today and basically the best option available is to take a soak in an onsen I reckon.
We have actually had some nice blue skies above the village with just a few clouds hanging around the top of the resorts... it's just that wind...
So from today Hakuba Cortina has been closed, so we're left with the four resorts below.
