Yesterday was a beautiful day. Blue skies, a few clouds here and there, hardly any wind... and warm. Hakuba 47 were reporting a temperature of 15C up at 1450m at 3pm!
No wonder we can see the remaining snow melting before our eyes.
Still, with only three days left to go now I think it's just a case of getting out and enjoying some last turns of the season and chilling out for most people. And they should be able to do that today as it should be another fine and warm day. Temperatures again expected to rise to low 20s.
The forecast is still showing some rain for tomorrow during the daytime.
Clearer skies should be back for Sunday.

Nozawa Onsen Now!
Friday 5th May 2017, 8:45am
Fine + cloud
Good morning from Nozawa Onsen.
The sun is out but there's more cloud around this morning. It should be another fine and sunny day today though and warming up to over 20 degrees once again.
Real feel-good conditions for Golden Week, as is so often the case.
Lots of snow on the upper slopes still, though it's melting away. The resort will have absolutely no problems remaining open as planned until Sunday though.
Unfortunately there's probably going to be some rain tomorrow - hopefully not too much - before clearer skies and sunshine return for Sunday.
Nozawa Onsen will be open until Sunday 7th May.
3 days to go!
Lower slopes are now bare, but upper slopes still have very good snow cover... though it's getting less!
Riders need to get the Gondola back down from the upper slopes at the end of the day.

The snowpack is going fast, but the two remaining ski areas in Myoko are going strong and looking like they'll end the season right on schedule on the 7th.
It is warm and sunny out there today, an ideal day, really, for some spring skiing.
Blue skies, warm breezes, white snow, something cold to drink.... makes me wish I weren't desk-bound today!
There was nice blue sky this morning but around 10am it turned into light overcast conditions. The light overcast was most welcome as it cut the direct rays of the sun from attacking the snow pack and the snow has not gone slushy. Skiing is restricted to the Romance #2 chair with 2 runs of approximately 800m each open. It is disappointing that the resort has closed the top chair as the snow up there still looks epic. The golden week crowds have not crowded the slopes with very very few people visible on the slopes today. In fact if you were looking to avoid the crowds then putting in some turns may well be the place to be. Read more ...
