Clear blue skies
Today is Midori-no-hi. And there's certainly a lot more green appearing here as spring takes hold. It might be sad that the ski and snowboard season is about to end, but there's a lot to love about spring too. And I don't just mean that lie-in that I'm so looking forward to on Monday. :)
It's a cracker this morning too.
Clear blue skies and sunshine.
And warm too. Comfortably warm, warming up to around 20C degrees. Just about perfect that, if you ask me.
I believe lifts got moving yesterday morning, but there shouldn't be an issues at all today - lifts appear to be operating as planned.

That section of road has now re-opened which means that you can now get to Shiga Kogen via Gunma Prefecture from the east - either for spring skiing and snowboarding or just for sightseeing. The road has had to be 'cut out' of the snow meaning that in places there are impressive snow walls on either side. Read more ...

Fair. Blue skies, some thin high cloud
Good morning from Grandeco.
Four more days to enjoy skiing in this area - at Grandeco or Nekoma - with both ski hills trying their best to keep the snow ride-able until Sunday.
The base area of Grandeco is still open, but the course down to base is now getting narrow. Happily the upper courses are still available so it's recommended to take the Number 3 lift and Melissa course to enjoy the larger amounts of snow.
There are many cars around the area now because it's Golden Week. Everywhere seems to be crowded with people. Drive safe and move quick!
- Gondola - Number 3 quad lift
80% courses now open. Lavender A, Lavender 28, Mint B and Center 33 course are closed. The Snow Parks are now closed.
Official snow depth: Top: 140cm Base: 40cm
