Weather conditions: Cloudy, overcast
New snowfall: 0cm
Snow depth: 240cm
This morning it is currently cloudy and slightly windy, the temperature is 6 degrees.

Locals are predicting it will become sunny today before it starts to rain tonight, which is forecast to last all the way through tomorrow as well. Enjoy the clear weather while it lasts.

Last day of the main season for Naeba tomorrow...

---

Here's the plan regarding the rest of the season. As Naeba is open daily until tomorrow and then only on the weekends through Golden Week, the Naeba Now report daily updates will finish for the season tomorrow with a few possible updates by the end of the season.

Kagura remains open until the end of May. The Yuzawa Now report page will be updated on a daily basis through until Golden Week and after that a few more updates through until the last lift stops moving at Kagura. So from next week any daily Naeba or Kagura related news will be posted on the Yuzawa Now report page.

Niseko Now!

Saturday 4th April 2015, 8:31am
Weather conditions: Chilly but fine
New snowfall: 0cm
Snow depth: 380cm
Morning from Niseko.

Somewhat colder this morning and while we haven't had any snow down here and we have had to put up with some wet conditions at base, the mountain has had a bit of a dusting apparently. I might just have to go up and check.

It is a start to the day though now, so I think I'll enjoy it!

Some 'de-icing' of a few lifts aside, resorts should be open as normal this morning.

The forecast is still showing the chance of some rain later tomorrow, but look towards around Tuesday for chilly conditions and still even a chance of some snowfall.

Just a few more days now for the Niseko Hanazono area and also the Niseko Village, though the latter will once again open up for Golden Week. These details are at the bottom of the report each day now.

---

Resort specific news as of 8:30am - subject to change during the day

Niseko Grand Hirafu:
King 3 and King 4 lifts needing some early morning 'de-icing'.

Niseko Hanazono:
Top lift likely might be delayed at the start of the day.

Niseko Village:
Wonderland lift might be delayed at the start of the day.

Niseko Annupuri:
Jumbo 4 lift might be delayed at the start of the day.

Grand Hirafu / Hanazono:
Top - 380cm
Base - 60cm

Niseko Village:
Top - 280cm

Minakami Now!

Saturday 4th April 2015, 9:16am
Weather conditions: Clear but slightly overcast
New snowfall: 0cm
Snow depth: 360cm
Slightly overcast here today at the base of Tenjin but plenty of snow around and there's a constant procession of hikers making for the peak. The base up top is still at a robust 360cm however the cat track is starting to look pretty thin at the bottom of the mountain.

The crew from local snowboard makers TJ Brand and Twelve will construct a big bowl at the base of the Tenjin Lift and you can test ride next season's models.

Winds are light, temps are warm and there is still plenty of time to get in a few turns before the season is truly finished!

---

Planned closing dates of ski resorts in Minakami (subject to change):

Until 5th April
Minakami Kogen Ski Resort
Minakami Hodaigi

Until early May
Tanigawa Tenjindaira

Note that the Tenjin Toge pair lift at Tenjindaira will be closed now on weekdays through until Friday 24th April. The reason being that the lift is used for tourism in the 'green season' and they need to prepare it for those operations. It does seem a long time to be closed for that, but that's what it says here! That lift being closed does limit things on weekdays, so do keep in mind if you are planning on visiting.

Now closed for the season
Oana
Norn Minakami
Okutone Snow Park
White Valley
Minakami Kogen

Snow depths:

Tenjindaira: 360cm
Hodaigi: 170cm

Hakuba Now!

Saturday 4th April 2015, 9:32am
Weather conditions: Mostly cloudy
New snowfall: 0cm
Snow depth: 100cm
As was forecast, we were treated to some rain and wind yesterday. Conditions are dry this morning but there is still lots of cloud around and the forecast for the day now is cloud with a chance of some brighter appearances by the sun during the day and a high of around 14 degrees. Whether that will happen or not...

Current forecast for tomorrow is a mix of cloud and rain. Let's hope for more of the former and less of the latter.

Snow cover is still excellent - though the snow conditions are of course full-on spring now. Lots of fun to be had though still especially when the weather co-operates. Down here in the village areas though there's lots of ground to be seen, and farmers will be hoping for that to clear up so they can get stuck into their preparations.

Tomorrow is the last day of the season for Hakuba Cortina and Kashimayari. After that we'll be left with:

- Hakuba Happo-one
- Hakuba 47
- Hakuba Goryu
- Tsugaike Kogen

...all of which will continue on until the end of Golden Week (and the 10th in the case of Happo).

As April progresses expect the snow to dry up from lower areas and by the end it is usually just the top areas open.

We will keep you informed on that situation over the coming weeks.

Shiga Kogen Now!

Saturday 4th April 2015, 9:56am
Weather conditions: Cloudy > clearing
New snowfall: 0cm
Snow depth: 210cm
After the warmth of late, it got a bit colder yesterday and in the evening we had some...rain. Not snow unfortunately.

Cloudy conditions this morning but it feels and looks like it might actually end up being a decent day weather wise today. Blue skies later on? Might get a bit windy later on as well according to some forecasts.

Those forecasts still say rain due tomorrow and Monday along with much colder temps and also snow around Tuesday. Yes please!

---

The Shiga Kogen Now reports will continue being updated until the end of the season - we will try to post a few new reports each week.

Myoko Now!

Saturday 4th April 2015, 10:33am
Weather conditions: Increasingly sunny as the day has gone on
New snowfall: 0cm
Snow depth: 340cm
A bit blustery yesterday, with the lifts at Akakan stopped for a while due to wind (and it was pretty rainy and nasty, but that didn't stop a lot of people from getting out there!).

Nicer day today, the second-to-the-last for a lot of the resorts. Still lots of snow out there, and it's getting more settled (and fun). Come ski, and enjoy the cherry blossoms just to the north of here!

Yuzawa Now!

Saturday 4th April 2015, 13:45pm
Weather conditions: Clear and sunny
New snowfall: 0cm
Snow depth: 125cm
There were some really stunning views of a thick 'sea of clouds' hanging over the Minamiuonuma valley areas this morning, as the day started off with thick fog and low cloud.

That cleared to eventually leave us with more blue skies and sunny conditions here today... not as warm though with temperatures just about getting into double digits.

A bit of a wind starting up during the day and as of just before 2pm now I am hearing that Gala Yuzawa might be closing due to the wind conditions.

Currently it looks like we might not get as much rain as we have been expecting for tomorrow too, most likely it will be falling in the morning. Tomorrow will probably end up a bit warmer than today though.

After that a good chance of more rain early in the week and colder temps. but clearer skies are forecast mid-week onwards.
