After all that sun, there's a chance this morning. Cloud and poorer visibility on the mountain - and rain/sleet/snow (higher up) is falling now. Temperatures are just about in the positive and probably going to remain around there for the day. There's a moderate wind as well but it's a bit early for lift information this morning, though I suspect there will be distuption there.
Hopefully there might be a bit of snow to report tomorrow morning!

No new snow, and you can see from the webcam images (see below) that it's raining up there. Rain rain go away. Or, turn into snow! Hopefully it might happen. Continuing on from yesterday afternoon... it's raining this morning. The mountains are mostly covered in cloud meaning poor visibility on many of the open resorts. Not the nicest of conditions, that's for sure.
Will it snow later, as the forecasts tell us?
I'll let you know how that goes tomorrow morning.
Official snow depth numbers and operations at resorts remaining open (as of 4th April 2014):
Hakuba Goryu: Plans to be open until early May. Upper - 210cm Toomi - 65cm Iimori - 0cm
Hakuba 47: Plans to be open until early May. Upper - 160cm Lower - 30cm
Happo-one: Plans to be open until early May. Usagidaira - 145cm
Tsugaike Kogen: Plans to be open until early May. Tsuganomori - 256cm Kanenonaruoka - 30cm
Hakuba Cortina: Plans to be open until 6th April. Upper - 230cm Lower - 110cm
The rain held off last night but started overnight, easing off a bit earlier but it's raining again now and seems set in for the day. It's raining up at Kagura as well.
Currently it is around 7 degrees here in town, but hopefully if (when) it gets colder later on today and tonight there is still that chance of snow - maybe even down to town though it will probably be borderline sleet/rain.
We'll just have to see what car nature deals and I'll let you know in the morning.
Planned resort closing dates in the region:
Until 6th April: Ipponsugi Ishiuchi Maruyama Iwappara Joetsu Kokusai Maiko Snow Resort - but open again on 12th/13th April Nakazato Snow Wood Yuzawa Nakazato NASPA Ski Garden
Until 6th May: Naeba (weekends only from 7th April) GALA Yuzawa Kagura (Tashiro)
Rain arrived yesterday afternoon and has continued through until this morning. The rain has been particularly heavy in the early hours of the morning and has assisted helping clear away snow from around the village.
As of now the rain has transformed to snow at the base level of the resort so lets hope that continues. Snow is on the forecast oficially from tonight through tomorrow afternoon.
Low cloud and fog are enveloping the resort and the town so visibility will be limited on the mountain and the snow particularly wet.
