And it is another clear start to the day in Yuzawa. The sun is shining down on the Naeba slopes and blue skies above Naeba, Kagura and the main town area early on. It wasn't as cold overnight as it has been and will likely rise to around 8 degrees today in town. It is a sunny start but it looks like we will not be able to escape rainfall later on this afternoon and evening.... though hopefully it might just get to snow on higher elevations.

Today has been mostly cloudy although it's cleared a little this afternoon. Temperatures are mild and the snow is in pretty rapid melt down low. Very slushy snow on the lower slopes but still pretty firm up top. Fine weather expected to continue to see out March tomorrow but a low pressure system will approach the island on Friday bringing rain late in the day. As it moves through cool to cold air will move down on Saturday bringing snow that will last out the weekend.
Current Official Snow Depths:
Grand Hirafu: Top - 395 Bottom - 180
Niseko Village: Top - 390 Bottom - 170
Annupuri: Top - 400 Bottom - 180

It was a fairly clear morning in Hakuba with light blue skies and just a few clouds up there and during the day generally it has become more cloudy. The sun has been shining for big parts of the day through the cloud but this evening things are duller and there are some spots of rain. Rain is actually forecast for tonight, perhaps a sprinkling of snow higher up, and tomorrow should be colder with a chance of light sleet in the village... hopefully not rain. Should be cold enough higher up to come down as snow though, but nothing big in terms of new cm.

Fine > cloudy this evening
And another mild day today with a high of around 6 degrees in the village this afternoon. The day has been mostly fine and sunny, though the skies have clouded over as the day has moved on and we are forecast to see some spots of rain this evening and into tomorrow - hopefully that won't last long.
Friday will bring warmer temperatures - perhaps rising into double digits - and sunny clear skies.
The following lifts on the upper areas of the resort are not operating: Uenotaira quad, Yamabiko No2 Four, Yamabiko Four, Nagasaka Gondola upper station. The upper part of the mountain will be closed for the rest of the season.

This morning started off bright and cheery once again with some mild conditions out there - very much a spring day out on the slopes. Clouds have been moving in throughout the day and this evening the mountain is shrouded in cloud. Might even be trying to snow up there, but I can't verify that right now. The local forecast doesn't have us down for much new snow in terms of fresh cm though, 0cm-5cm max, so we can't really expect it to amount to much if anything.
The forecast for tomorrow in the region is cloud and light rain at times but at higher elevations such as Kagura we can hope for snow.
Operations at Naeba and Kagura are as follows (30th March):
Naeba: - No 3 quad lift - No 5 quad lift
This means that the lower courses on the mountain are open (all upper areas closed).
After a nice start to the day temperatures have dropped and it has become much more cloudy. It is even starting to try to snow this evening and we can maybe expect a very thin new layer of snow tomorrow morning.
The outlook for tomorrow is cloud/sunny spells/chance of light snow - wonder how that will turn out! - before clearer, sunny conditions on Friday when things should warm up into positive numbers once again.
