Cloud up high
It's officially the last week of the season here in Minakami with Tenjin being the last resort open and due to shut after Golden Week.
We've had some pretty cold weather of late but things are feeling more spring-like with higher temperatures over the last few days. The cherry blossoms have made it out in time for Golden Week and everything is looking a lot greener. There's no snow left in the valley any more. The warm temperatures look set to continue throughout Golden Week so the last few days of skiing should be in the sun. Read more ...

Last night it rained and in early evening there was some snow mixed in with the rain at times. While this is not really anything to boast about, it is the best news that I have at the moment.
Today's winds can only be described as strong, and it is varing between rain and sleet on the hill. The rain is coming in complete horizontal at the moment. Furano Ropeway is on hold due to the winds. The sole operating lift is Prince Romance Lift, and there are quite a few people out there at the moment battling the weather to get a few runs in.
The forecast for the next couple of days is for cloud and rain.
Today started off with some rain but while it has remained cloudy for the most part, the rain eased off and has been a rather mild day in the area. Right now it is about 15 degrees in Yuzawa. Perhaps we can expect less cloud and some sun tomorrow but it still looks like from Saturday it we will see warmer temperatures and a run of fine and sunny days in Yuzawa.
