Snow and weather reports posted on Saturday 17th February 2018

Drizzle in Yuzawa and also down to base at Kagura this morning, with the resort reporting light snow on the upper slopes. Hopefully we might get to see some snowfall tonight but tomorrow is set to be clear and sunny and so we can't expect anything significant.
It has to be said that over the last few weeks the local forecast for Yuzawa has been off a fair few times - it's all very 'yominikui' (difficult to read) at the moment.
Still, remember we are still in November. We need to keep patient!
Planned resort opening dates for all of the skijo in Yuzawa town (subject to snow conditions)
December 7th: Kagura (Tashiro) Naeba Iwappara
December 14th: Yuzawa Nakazato Yuzawa Kogen Nakazato Snow Wood

The snow started falling late last night. It was a colder night and as of 9am it is around -1C and -5C up top at Hirafu. Snow continued to fall and we should be looking at snow to continue through into tomorrow.
No official word from the resorts yet but if the snow falls as expected, hopefully we will be looking at openings on Saturday.

Cloud, thick cloud higher
Some fresh snow to report from around the resorts this morning - on the upper slopes:
5cm reported Happo (Usagidaira) 6cm reported by Hakuba 47 4cm reported by Hakuba Goryu
Operations at the resorts remains unchanged.
Light rain in the village this morning but as I write this it is just cloudy with most of the mountains hidden from view... hearing that it is snowing up there still. And snow is due to be falling today - down to village level as well. It does look likely that things will clear up sometime tomorrow and into the weekend so fingers crossed for that snowfall tonight.
I'll let you know.

Happo-one: Usagidaira - 70cm Nakiyama - 0cm Sakka - 0cm Lifts operating: Adam Gondola, Usagidaira pair, Kurobishi Number 2 quad, Kokusai Number 3 pair, Panorama pair. The Gondola is just for 'getting there'.
