Monday 26th March 2018, 6:38am
Clear and sunny
And..... more of the same today! just perhaps slightly warmer still, with a high of around 15C forecast for the village.
It is full on spring now of course but we are doing really well for snow cover even down on lower areas still - check out the webcam images every day from now to keep an eye out for any patches starting to show through.
School holidays now and so expect to see more families and young children around.

Sunny and clear
Good morning from Hakuba.
Guess what? It's another beautiful morning here. As expected of course with more of the same through until the weekend. The next three days or so in particular are going to be nice and warm - over 15C at base.
The Sanosaka ski hill is now closed for the season and a few ski resorts are now entering their last week of the season. That means that from next week Happo-one, Goryu, 47 and Tsugaike Kogen will remain open. And they hope to be open through until Golden Week in early May.
Ski resort information on Monday 26th March 2018 (at time of writing):
Hello and good morning on this lovely Monday morning.
Clear skies again along with a mild start to the day. If the forecasts are correct, we can expect warmth of around 16C in town later on. We might even get to see temps rising to about 20C come Thursday. Not much chance of fresh snow then!
Still, very good snow cover and lots of snow around the slopes. You might notice on the Ishiuchi Maruyama webcam below how the Minamiuonuma valley is still looking white which is good to see.
These clear and warm conditions will most likely be continuing right through until at least the weekend.

Good morning from Grandeco.
It is a beautiful morning with blue skies and the great view of Mt. Bandai - and it shoud be a sunny day for the week until Friday. There is still enough snow on the slopes meaning it will be possibly to keep all of the courses open until early April.
Inawashiro and Urabandai ski hills closed.
Alts Bandai Hoshino resort will open until 1st April.
Three ski hills - Minowa, Nekoma and Grandeco - will try to remain at least part open until 6th May!
Please note that the snowfall numbers posted in this report will be observed from close to the base Tenjindaira Ropeway station - which is often much more than in the central town area of Minakami. Read more ...

Good morning from Naeba! It's another bright start today, with the sun beating down into Mikuni valley. The air temperature is already 5°C, suggesting its going to be a warm day. There are highs of 14°C predicted today. THere will be a light wind, however, keeping us a little bit cooler when higher up the mountain. Overnight tonight we can expect the warm temperatures to persist, with lows predicted to be well above freezing. The snow will be wet and slushy today.
Looking forwards, we have a stable forecast ahead. The sun is expected to continue all week, with only a brief break on Thursday evening where there may be a little rain. Most noteably, highs of 18°C are predicted for Thursday morning. There will also be little wind this week. Read more ...

Sunny again, and I have the (red) forehead to prove how sunny it was over the past two days.
There’s a real sense of things winding down as the snow is really disappearing all around at base level. It’s pretty dry, too, if my outdoor sensor unit is correct.
It should be a week of pretty steady temperatures and not much chance of any precipitation. A few lift closings already as we enter the last week for most of the resorts...
Lotte Arai Resort: 401cm, 6.5°; Exciter and Discovery courses permanently closed; in the avalanche-controlled areas, East Bowl, Zendana-sawa, Wase-zawa and KG permanently closed; Mamushi and Small Mamushi closed (see website for updates); closing May 6
