Yuzawa Now!

Saturday 25th April 2009, 9:19am
Weather conditions: Cloud, rain
New snowfall: --
Snow depth: --
Yesterday turned out to be a whole lot chillier than I think people expected - it was actually quite cold out there.

Well we are expecting rain today, though early on it is either holding off (like in town at the moment) or just light rain falling. Forecast strong winds has closed GALA Yuzawa down for the day and some lifts at Kagura are also not open yet but hope to depending on how the weather goes. Naeba is on standby too.

With rain forecast along with this wind, perhaps not the best day to be out there!

Kagura Tashiro:
180cm
Kagura (Mitsumata):

Myoko Now!

Saturday 25th April 2009, 10:32am
Weather conditions: Rain, cloud
New snowfall: --
Snow depth: --
Welcome to the weekend and what is the last two days of the season for Myoko resorts. Akakan have announced that tomorrow will be the last day of the season and with Seki already closed, that means that no ski lifts will be moving come Monday morning.

Unfortunately it's not looking like the weather is going to be kind this weekend with rain and strong winds at times both today and tomorrow - some very strong winds tomorrow afternoon in particular which may well close the resort early. It's a grey and dull day and fairly cold up on the mountain as well.

It doesn't seem that long ago when the season was just about starting, but here we are right near the end. Enjoy what's left if you are getting out there!    Read more ...

Naeba Now!

Saturday 25th April 2009, 10:39am
Weather conditions: Rain, cloud
New snowfall: --
Snow depth: --
Strong winds causing lifts to be halted this morning both at Naeba (where the Gondola and one pair lift is moving, as well as the Dragondola over to Tashiro) and Kagura, though most of the courses up at Kagura are still accessible with the lifts that are moving.

It's raining even up at the top of Kagura this morning and looks set to for the day and tomorrow as well sadly. Right now it is looking like it will be Tuesday before the weather clears up and we get a glimpse of the sun again.
