Snow and weather reports posted on Friday 24th November 2017
Sunday 23rd April 2017, 8:09am
Good morning from Yuzawa.
Quite a lot of cloud hanging around for the day yesterday with a bit of sunshine for short periods later in the afternoon... but it actually felt rather chilly outside. I had to get my jacket out again and that was just in my own garden not up on the mountains!
This morning there is a lot of cloud again and a bit of blue sky. Looks like there was a bit of rain overnight but it is not raining now, and clearer conditions are still forecast for the day.
It's not going to warm up again today... tomorrow should see a return to more seasonable temperatures.
Kagura, GALA Yuzawa, Kandatsu Kogen and Naeba resorts are all at least part open today. Naeba will be closed from tomorrow again before opening up for Golden Week, starting next Saturday.

Cloud, blue sky (increasingly?)
While there's still a lot of cloud around at the time of writing, there is some blue sky and more of that along with sunshine is forecast for the day today. And still keeping relatively cold too.
Tomorrow there's more clear weather on the forecast and it would seem that we can also expect slightly warmer temperatures as well.
There's not much else to report this morning really. Have a fine day, wherever you may be.

Mostly cloudy, blue sky
Good morning from Hakuba.
It was pretty cold outside yesterday!
Visibility improved by mid to late morning over at 47/Goryu, though it was variable on the upper slopes of Happo-one - creating some impressive and mysterious scenery at times. And like I said... cold. It certainly didn't feel like the late part of April.
Lots of cloud this morning but blue sky on show in places too and the sun currently shining through my window. Fine sunny weather is forecast.
Over the next few days we can expect things to get a little warmer too - though it doesn't look like there's a crazy heat up due yet.
Resorts open as planned. Enjoy the day!

Nozawa Onsen Now!
Sunday 23rd April 2017, 8:53am
Hello and good morning from Nozawa.
The big news at the time of writing (just before 9am) is that there seems to be some kind of safety checks going on at the Nagasaka Gondola and therefore the Gondola is not moving yet. Hopefully they'll get that sorted quickly, but best to check with them if you are on your way out this morning.
Lots of cloudy still around and limited visibility on the top slopes -- they actually seem to be reporting snow falling up there (though no new cm), and there has been a few spots of rain down here too -- but fine weather is actually on the forecast for today. So a fast clear-up, perhaps?
The relatively cold conditions are definitely continuing for the moment though.
Tomorrow should be warmer.
We usually see things heating up for the Golden Week holidays - next week - so it'll be interesting if we see that happen this year too. It felt unseasonably cold yesterday, that's for sure!
Planned operations - see above report for any disruptions to the plans!
Planned lift operations: - Nagasaka Gondola - Yamabiko Four - Yamabiko Number 2 Four - Skyline Connecting pair - Uenotaira Four - Paradise Four
Planned open courses: - Yamabiko A - Yamabiko C - Yamabiko D - Yamabiko E - Kokenashi - Uenotaira - Paradise - Bunabayashi - Rinkan - Challenge

Sunday 23rd April 2017, 8:53am
Cool temperatures have once again brought some unexpected snow to the village. There was 2cm accumulation this morning, so there will be significantly more fresh than that further up on the resort. There is still great skiing from the top right down to the base of the resort. It is overcast today and a little light rain is expected during the day. Tomorrow looks to be a return to sunny weather. Fair blue skies
Good morning from Grandeco. Beautiful blue skies this morning.
The sunshine is very strong this morning - sunscreen and sunglasses are necessary.
The snow is soft sherbet condition and a good wax before going out is definitely recommended.
4km of ski course is available from top to base but the snow depth is decreasing every day as the days count down on the rest of the season now.
The advanced course Melissa is open - take No.3 lift.
Minowa ski hill will end their ski season today leaving just Nekoma and Grandeco as the remaining open ones in the region.
If you are looking for a snow park, choose Nekoma.
Grandeco is the place if you want to enjoy a 4km of long groomed course.
- Gondola - Number 3 quad lift
85% courses now open. Lavender A, Mint B and Center 33 course are closed. The Snow Parks are now closed.
