Phew, summer was hot. Even up in the mountains. I'm glad to report though that the last week or so has seen temperatures drop a fair bit and it's feeling more autumn-like.... at last!
The summer seemed to go on for so long this year. So the more comfortable months of autumn are very welcome. Of course, people in the area are now busy preparing things for the upcoming winter season. Naeba is planning for an early December opening, with the Kagura resort hoping to be open 20th November. There's still a fair while to go, but lots to look forward to.
In the meantime, we have the beautiful autumn colours to look forward to. The Dragondola will be operating from 9th October until 7th November taking people up from the Naeba base to the top area of Tashiro. It's spectacular at peak times, usually around late October. Read more ...
